Chapter 4

"All students report to the main auditorium immediately! This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a drill!" You were woken up by the sudden announcement and you ran to the auditorium. Amores groaned, "Why is someone yelling this early in the morning?" You reply, "I don't have a good feeling about this you guys. Something's not right." Your mind began to think of the many tragic possibilities that could occur at a moment like this for seconds.

About five minutes later, your body was being suffocated by the other students that stood beside, behind or near you. You saw a glimpse of Chancellor Sheppard's body and exhale nervously. He spoke with caution, "There is now a curfew in place. There have been reports of two Obelisk students that have disappeared mere hours ago." Suddenly, everyone began to scream with fear. One student asked, "W-What is that thing?!?" Due to the high volume of students, you were separated from Alexis and Atticus. They both shout, "Y/N!"

Alexis began to cry, "We should've been closer to her! We can't find her anywhere!" Atticus said, "It's okay Lex. They'll find Y/N. I promise you, they'll find her." She just sniffed in response.

You were being pushed back and forth by several students. You began to panic when you saw a black cloud appear above Chancellor Sheppard's head. Magician's Valkyria said, "Y/N, you have to find your brother and sister. It's too dangerous to be here alone." You reply with a whisper, "How though? They could be anywhere!!" Amores began to shake, "Guys I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, I think that cloud is heading towards us!" Your eyes widen with fear as you saw the cloud grow larger and larger with enormity. You heard someone call out, "Y/N." It wasn't one of your spirits though. You stop and ask, "Yubel? What—" Yubel answers, "I'll explain later." You said to yourself, "If Yubel is here that means—" You hear a cheery voice ask, "Hey Y/N, what's with the long face?" You reply, "Jaden." You ask, "How did you know that we were here?" Valkyria admits, "That was my doing. I was worried." You said, "Apologies can wait, right now we have to get everyone out of here." You and Jaden both realized that you were trapped inside the auditorium. Jaden groans, "Great! We're trapped inside this nasty place! Could this get any worse?" The lights flicker, then you're both surrounded by darkness.

You were freaking out while Jaden on the other hand was as cool as a cucumber. Jaden said, "Ow! What did I bump into?" You reply, "That was my rib cage, genius!" You exhale, "Anyways, we have to find some kind of light source. I'm starting to get creeped out." The power came back on after but you both heard a cackle, "We will conquer this world! No human can stop us from achieving our true power!" The sinister voice faded away, leaving you feeling unsettled.

Jaden stares at his ceiling and asks, "Did you feel that too, Yubel?" Yubel responds, "I don't have a good feeling about this at all. I just sensed this strange aura around the academy." Jaden said, "Maybe you're just imagining things." Yubel shook her head, "I'm serious, Jaden. The aura is everywhere now. It stinks of the shadows."

Something puzzled you, actually make that several things. Who or what was that thing? What does it even want with us? How is it connected with the academy? You sigh, "This is all too much." Valkyria pointed to a spot, "What's that over there, Y/N?" You saw something lying in the middle of the floor. You pick it up, observing its ancient appearance. You hid the object beneath your cloak and head back to your dorm.

As you were heading back, you felt a presence behind you. Valkyria became defensive, "Do I need to kick someone's butt?" You mentally facepalmed and she became antsy. Dark Magician replied, "I think what she's trying to say is no, Valkyria. You don't need to become violent over nothing." Breaker exhales, "You're around Amores and Flame Wing too much." You heard a sweet voice ask, "You okay, sweetie?" Breaker said, "That voice sounds way too creepy for my liking. Anyone with me?" All your spirits nod in mutual agreement. The voice began to laugh evilly after, "You pathetic human!" You began to run away from the voice and you felt the presence follow you. You were outside the Obelisk dorms when you were met face to face with a demonic-looking man.

Alexis gazed out the window with worry. You hadn't come back to the dorm since the announcement of the curfew. Alexis jumped when the door flew open. It was Zane that was at the door. He said, "We have a problem, get the others...now Alexis!" She frantically nods and does what she is told immediately.

"W-Who are you?" That was the first question that flew out of your trembling lips. Valkyria said, "Don't worry Y/N, we'll protect you!" You reply, "I hate to break it to you but, you guys are in spirit form! How are you supposed to protect me from that?" You kept taking several steps back from the demonic presence and felt yourself fall to the ground. The demon cackled, "Perish!" You were waiting for an impact but felt nothing. You heard, "Hey dude, lay off my friend!" Another voice adds, "This ain't gonna look pretty for you." Jesse? Jaden? Jesse adds, "Hey partner, aren't you gonna help us now?" Jaden helped you up and said, "Jesse's right, we need your help right now Y/N." The demonic spirit remarks, "No matter how much help you get, you'll never defeat us!" There was an aura that struck both boys and you yell, "Jesse! Jaden! Are you both okay?" Jaden answers, "We're good!" Jesse nods in agreement with the brunette boy. The spectre yawns, "This is rather dull, I'll be leaving now." Valkyria looked like she was about to murder someone. She was being held back by Breaker and Amores. Dark Magician Girl said, "Calm down Valkyria. Getting angry over whatever that thing was isn't going to help us right now." You mentally agreed with her. Jaden asked, "What was that thing?" You sigh, "Your guess is as good as mine, Jaden." You heard your name being called by someone else. You saw a frantic looking Alexis followed by a relieved Atticus and a calm yet concerned looking Zane. Alexis questioned, "Where were you? We were all worried sick, Y/N!"

***One hour later***

"What did you just say?!?" That was Alexis' reply to what Chancellor Sheppard's melancholy news. Alexis tried to stay calm as she inquires, "When were they last seen?" Chancellor Sheppard replies, "According to your other classmates, they didn't see them after the announcement this morning."

"Wait so these two girls are missing?" You reply, "Apparently they've been gone since this morning." Valkyria looked hesitant, "I think I have an idea but I'm not so sure as of yet." You ask, "What the revelation, Valkyria?" Valkyria breathes out, "I think that our new enemy is the one who's doing this." You stop, "You mean—" Valkyria answers, "The enemy is connected to these disappearances."
