Chapter 4: Ciara

"What?!?!? What do you mean the reef's dying?" I cried a little too loudly.

"Shhhhhh!!!!!!!! It's supposed to be top secret!!!" Nixie whsiper-yelled at me.

But of course, because of my big mouth, my brother, Caspian comes over and asks me, "What happened to the reef? Why is it dying? When did it start dying? How is it dying?"

But I just reply to him, " Cas, I'll tell you later, at home, Kai might want to know."

So, yes, I have younger siblings. They are 2 years younger than me and Caspian is the older twin by 5 minutes. But the thing is, Capian is a full time merman and Kaimana is a human, but she has mermaid powers. She can control water-everything about it- temperature, viscosity, surface tension, EVERYTHING, just like me. Kaimana gets to stay on land, and go to regular school all the time. I only get to go half the time. Caspian gets to go to sea school all the time, I only get to go half the time. But, getting back to the conversation,

"Okay. And I'm sure dad would LOVE to know. " Cas says as he swims off.

"Don't tell anyone!" I holler back at him.

"Yeah yeah yeah." I hear Cas reply.

------------- At the Jackson house-------------

"Ciara says the reef's dying!" Caspian blurts out as soon as he opens the hatch from the underwater entrance to the house.

"I did NOT!" I scream back as I surface.

"Wait, which reef?" Kai asks.

"Shhhhhh!!!!!!!! No reef is dying." Nixie says as she trails behind me.

"Kai, I'll explain later." I tell Kaimana.

"But I want to know NOW!" Kai whines.

I simply lift myself out of the water and evaporate the water in my tail and leave.

"Nix, let's go to my room."

My room basically tells everything about my life, half the floor is water and the other half includes my bed, bedside table and all the human stuff I can't get wet. This also means... Shoot! Ava... has never been to my house. Just then, I realize that I left Ava alone... By the pier...near the tub...
