I continued telling Ava about my whole life. About Cas, and Kai. She already knew who Kai was, but it promised to let her meet Cas as soon as possible. After I had told her about Cas and me being half mermaid, like any other habituals, which are simply humans that can't see or know about the existence of "fantastical" marine life, she starts asking me questions like there's no tomorrow.

"How do you transform?"

"Is Kai a mermaid too?"

"Are your parents?"

"Is Atlantis real?"

"What's it like underwater?"

"Are you like Ariel?"

"Do you gain more powers when there's a full moon, like in H2O?"

"What can you do?"

Eventually, I got tired of her asking multiple questions, so I said,

"Ava, Ava, Ava, I'll tell you everything you wanna know, just take a breath and shut up for a second."

"Okay.... Fineeeee."

"After a 30 seconds of making contact of any form of 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen, Kai is something complicated. My mom is a mermaid and the daughter of Posideon. My dad is just a regular human. So, I'm only half mermaid-half human. Atlantis is real. It's where Cas, Kai's twin, lives. The world underwater is amazing. Maybe I could show you sometime. Ariel is my second cousin. Like Percy Jackson. I don't get more powers in a full moon, but similar to the water benders in Avatar: The Last Airbender, my powers are enhanced.

After I answered all of her questions, she has some follow-up questions. But, I just ignore them, and reply by diving into the Tub. I tell Nixie that she can take off the glamour as I jump out of the water.

"WHOA!!!!!!!!!!" Is all I hear come out of Ava's mouth. When I resurface, I allow myself to reveal all of my mermaid-y-ness. I go toward shore and allow Ava to see my bright hot pink eyes, my wavy sea green-sky blue hair, and my tail blanketed in the gorgeous shimmering combination of silver, blue, violet, and white scales. Then, Nixie comes up behind me.

"So this is the famous Avalon Bridgette James I've heard so much about." Nixie speaks. (In English, even though mermaids can speak all verbal languages that ever existed.)

"What... Who... Whaa.. Merr...maid... CiCi..." Stutters Ava.

"I've got this, CiCi. " Nixie announces in Phoenician.

"What was that? What did she say?" Ava asks.

Nixie says, "I said that I'll explain everything to you. Oh, and I'm Nixie."

"Your tails, so beautiful, and your hair, and your eyes." Ava mumbles.

Of course, Nixie chooses this very second to change her hair color. So, her hair matches her aquamarine eyes now.

"Whaaa... What ...j-j-j-just... H-hap-pp-en-d... T-t-to... T-that... m-mermaid's h-hair?"

"I changed the color." Nixie says calmly, as she might say that she changed her clothes.

"I'll explain that later." I say quickly after Nixie's reply.

I grab Ava's wrist and force her under the fresh water. But don't worry, just before her head was submerged, I created an air bubble around her head and used some mermaid magic to ensure her clothes would stay dry (Like Percy's power). I watched, amused, as Ava looks startled, to shocked, to frightened. Startled, because of her sudden underwater surroundings, shocked because of her temporary ability to breathe underwater, and frightened due to all of the sudden marine life, but I think that what would frank her out the most was what was about to happen...

Telepathically, I talk to her slowly.

Ava? Can you understand me?

Yes, how? Why can't I talk? And why is your voice in my head?

I put an air bubble over your head to breathe, and used some magic to keep you dry. Underwater, you can't really hear stuff if your a non-mythical creature, so it's just so much easier to talk to you telepathically.

So? What now? Nixie suddenly cuts in.

"We could take her to Merlantia..." I suggest in a cautious tone.
