"Whatever you want. I mean it is your family's you-know-what. " Nixie replies in a somewhat amused yet calm tone. (out loud this time, so Ava couldn't hear her)
"Ok," I turn to Ava and ask, Wanna come to my family's city?
What? Are you like royalty or something? Ava replies.
I shift uncomfortably a little, and Ava seems to take this as a yes as she screeches, sorry more like, screams in my head.
OMG! My best friend, who is a mermaid, is mermaid royalty? How? What? Are you like a princess or something? Is your mom a queen? Isn't your dad just a biologist? What?!
So, again, I tell her, Ava, just shut up.
Rude. I thought your mermaid mom would have taught you better than this.
I hear Nixie giggle and respond, Yeah, CiCi, you know, being the granddaughter of Poseidon, you'd think you'd know better. I shot Nixie daggers and she just shrugged. 3... 2....
WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?! And the headache starts... POSEIDEON! GRANDFATHER! ROYAL!
Yes, Ava, I'm the granddaughter of Poseideon, I told you before, but you must not have heard me.
Then, Nixie cuts in before another headache starts pounding and asks me if we could get going now. So, I drag Ava closer to the middle of the Tub and call one of my family friends.
A silver and indigo dolphin pops up, which of course freaks Ava out. But I calm her down eventually and I turn to Dolphius, a long time ally to my family. He's the king of dolphins and is immortal, I'm pretty sure he helped raise U.S. and figure out who could do what when we were young. I ask Dol if we could get a ride or a temp tail for Ava or something. Unfortunately, Ava can't get the temp until we get to the city, but Dol is able to give her a ride.
Ok Ava. This is Dolphius, he's a friend and he's gonna give you a ride to Merlantia. Just hang on tight.
Ava does as she's told and we're off to my family's ancient city. Ava on Dol's back, Nix and me racing to the city. (I beat her. Not that that's important. It is actually.)
We arrive at the front gates within a half hour. Not bad. Not bad. I guess we weren't as far as I thought. Usually it takes 45 minutes to get to Merlantia from the Tub... ok well that's not important. I thank Dol and send him on his way and grab Ava's wrist so she wouldn't sink into the abyss below. Yeah yeah that may be dangerous but when you're half fish, you don't seem to mind it. I drag Ava into the palace, only stopping so the guards could scan my eye as well as Nix's. Luckily, the palace is the one place where there is land and air. Being as my mom kinda married a human, Grandpops built a half submerged palace, similar to my house, which he also built. Hey, when you're a god, it doesn't take anything more than the snap of your fingers to build a huge, gold plated palace.
