~Chapter 7 Why Did I Do That?

~Chapter 7~

Alec's P.O.V

-The night before. Leaving Paige's house-

"Oh Honey!" Her mother ran up to her. She basically jumped at her, but who can blame her? We were all worried.

"Mom that’s painful. I love you, but please stop." She squeezed out of her mom's death grip hug.

 "Oh sorry dear. Come on. Come inside. You to Alec I have to thank you for bringing her home and watching over her for me." She said to me with a sweet smile. Her mom was always so nice.

"I actually have to go" I said lifting my hand to my shoulder and pointing to the way my house was.

"You’re not gonna stay?" Paige asked me with what sounded of hurt in her voice and a little sadness in her eyes. She didn't remember me so why was it there?

"I gotta get home," I lied through my teeth. 

'You liar, you stupid liar. She's been in the hospital and seems to remember something about you. Your just gonna leave her? And lie? Wow, your a loser bro." My conscience spat at me.

"Oh okay then bye" She said hugging me out of no where. I really didn't expect a hug. Her embrace was warm. I missed it. With that I left. I don't know why I did. I wanted to spend all the time with her but instead I just kept walked away.

"Why?" I found myself asking myself. Because I loved her and she needed to be with her family right? No that's not the reason. Not because I'm greedy but because we were always so close. And her mom welcomes me like a son even though were not married or anything like that. There was more but I still don't know why. Why am I such an idiot?

I walked the rest of the way home. Still, thinking of my reasons. I walked into the door of my house to get hit in the leg with a munchkin about 3 feet tall. She had black ebony hair and deep sea blue eyes. Just like me.

"Jeez if I didn't know better I would have thought that I was getting mugged" I laughed at the munchkin still hanging onto my leg. "Did you miss me that much?" She nodded. "Are you gonna let go of me anytime soon?" She shook her head. I laughed a bit. "Kay so be it." I said walking oddly to the kitchen and she started to giggle.

"I missed you Allie" She said with a lisp. She just lost her first tooth. It was one of the front ones. Allie is her nickname for me.

"I missed you too Mia" I bent down to pick her up and kissed her forehead. "Where's dad?"

"Work and Kasey is in the living room folding clothes. I helped her today yuh know?" She said all proud of herself.

"You did? Good job my munchkin." She pouted and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Who you call ‘in munchkin, giant."

"No one my munchkin." I said with a grin on my face.

"Meaner." She stuck her tongue out at me.

"That's cute" I kissed her forehead again and put her down. "Hey Kase" I said waving to Mia's babysitter. See, Mia's my 3 year old sister and Kasey ,AKA Kase, is her 23 year old baby sitter. I also have a step mom and my dad. I was relieved neither of the were home and usually weren't. One I hate my step mother. Two my dad takes her opinion over mine. Three they both annoy the hell outta me. They won't even let me watch Mia. So they hired Kase instead. I don't mind her. She's nice, so as long at Mia likes her then she's fine.  She waved me back.

"Heya how's Paige?"

 "She's recovering And I took her home earlier."

"Oh that's great. So she's doing better?" No, she forgets who I am. So I can't kiss her, hold her, or be near her because I'm not there anymore.
