Oh how joyous the occasion is!
We sat in three rows, facing
the telly that is connected
to the sleek red laptop. Words
appeared on the screen, cuing us
to begin again, nudging someone
to start the ball rolling (or start singing
the first line then everyone else would join).
You sat in the middle of it all, you-
the funny faces, the exaggerated singing
and the bag of laughter- rallying everyone
else to smile along with you.
Oh it's 10pm! Time
to go home. We packed
up and left. The walk
home was quiet, no
conversations to fill
the spaces between
the rest of us. I wished
you were there.
