I.
Sally was gorgeous-
Her abysmal beauty shone
Through murky waters.

II.
Her riches were not
To be undermined either-
Richer than a queen.

III.
We people stood by
On the pavement, while she went
To town. Green people.

IV.
But one fine Sunday
While we smiled, Sally pointed
A gun to her head.

A/N: This is written in the third person perspective, effectively outcasting Sally. This is enhanced by "We" and "she" in III as well as the symbolic image of the people being on the pavement while Sally went to town. They are of different worlds, in a metaphorical sense. Words and phrases such as "abysmal" and "richer than a queen" (hyperbole) reinforces the idea that the people put Sally on a pedestal and see her as the epitome of perfection. However, in IV, it is revealed that Sally isn't perfect at all as she has her own fair share of problems- ones that people didn't know about- that cause her to commit suicide. The juxtaposition of happy "fine Sunday" and her morbid, sudden death underlines the shock her death brought to the people and emphasizes just how much people didn't know about her. Perfection isn't what it seems.

P.S."green people" -jealous people
