If equal affection cannot be, 

let the more loving one be me:

how noble it sounds, how touching

As much as I hope, I wish I could do it,

I know I am incapable 

of such selfless love, such 

unconditional love. Some

may say that I have not known 

love, at all. Perhaps perhaps
