March on the Moon

Thantalus, Susanna and Alex flew their ships alongside the massive troop transports and other guardians weaves their ships in and out of the formation. The moon had changed over the past and was somewhat livable now. A small amount of low carbon dioxide plants littered the landscape creating a light atmosphere. Breathing there was kinda like breathing at the top of Mt. Everest (yes it is still there, just a bit taller).

The moons surface came into full view among the huge crags and mountains there was a massive rift that glowed with green light, the Hive home. It stuck out like a sore thumb, a reminder to Guardians and Humans alike of the last battle for the moon. It was almost two hundred years ago now, the Guardian force was not as large as it is now a thousand fought maybe two hundred returned.

That was Crota's doing. He and his death singers killed the Guardians by the dozens. Shaxx was the only one who remembered that though, other than the speaker, he was there. The others(Cayde, Zavala, and Ikora) came around maybe fifty years after that battle. Everyone's hands tightened on their steering columns.

A huge clearing laid before the entrance to the fortress. It was maybe ten miles long this is where they were going to offload all the troops.

The troop transports hovered above the ground and all the troops leapt off using the low gravity to help them. Fallen and Humans mixed in their separate columns according to the Guardians they were assigned to. The rest who weren't assigned to a guardian filled ranks behind their commanders. Nearly a thousand Guardians stood before the rest. Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks alike. The Three were standing behind the force. The speaker was talking with the other two. This was the moment they have all been waiting for.
Thantalus was standing with Susanna and Alex was doing his normal, scouting out the base with his long range snipers rifle. He was sitting on what was a mountain top steady as a rock. Thantalus was making idle conversation with a few of the higher ranking regulars. Then Shaxx joined them. Thantalus could feel the regulars mouths hit the bottom of their helmets at the sight of the massive being. His sword was across his back and a massive HMG was in his hands.
Thantalus never felt him so nervous or excited before, he wanted revenge.

"Greetings Thantalus, hello Susanna,"
He did a half now to both of them.
"I will be joining y'all today, as we will be the spear head force."

Thantalus looked at him,
"We are spearheading this?"

"Yes"

"Shit"

Susanna turned his direction, amazed, he never cursed like that before. Shaxx began to laugh and clapped his hand on Thantalus' shoulder,

"Shit indeed!"

A war horn sounded near the rear ranks beginning the march.
Even through their helmets they could hear the beating of the Humans armor with their fists. They were chanting and singing a war song,

"Through many battles and many wars

We have fought without fear

Through many dangers and many toils

We have fought without fear

Have you ever seen a force this strong stand up against the Hive?

With Guardians and with their power

We fight for the Light

With Fallen and with their swords

We fight for the Light

We never back down we never give up we fight to the last and when we've won
We go to our families or answer our travesties to the one above
We always fight with strength and might and for our fathers love."

The song then repeated itself, even some of the Guardians joined in. They marched to the beat of the song. Thantalus was at the front with Susanna and Shaxx when Alex along with five Fallen Captains appeared out of thin air beside them.
Alex looked at them,

"They are the Shadows they will be fighting with us today."

Thantalus looked them over as they marched. Instead of the regular blue and white they wore black and gray, even their masks where a different color. The creepiest part was
They didn't have eyes
They each carried four massive sabers in each of their hands."

Without another thought he nodded to the Captains who then, surprisingly, nodded back. He didn't think anymore on it.

As they marched. Thantalus thought on the things that happened to him. His thoughts focused on one thing, Susanna. Every thought he had went straight to her. He reached  his hand out and grabbed hers they looked at each other with the same expression hidden underneath their helms, love. They continued their march together ignoring the whistles from the men.

The Hive fortress approached on the horizon. Then as they kept marching the Hive themselves appeared. Their ranks bristled with swords and weapons. Ogres towered over the rest of the forces. There were maybe a hundred ogres but there were at least ten thousand acolytes knights and thrall the opposing sides stopped maybe a hundred yards from each other.
A deathly silence filled the valley and a pressure filled the air. Shaxx took a step forward and let loose a battle cry that shook in the chests of everyone. It was one of blood and fury, of hate and justice. The Guardian's forces echoed the cry and charged.

Thantalus' destiny was nearing...
