MARIK'S POV

I only thought about the revenge. That was all I wanted. Revenge my father's death by defeating the Pharaoh. Yes, I want his Millenium puzzle as well, but something else was bothering me. Who is the mysterious person who owns the Millenium crown? I didn't know anything about that, except that he ( or she) is at the Domino City. It must be one of the Pharaoh's friends. I'm gonna find it out sooner or later. I was tired. I need to rest myself for tomorrow. For the big day. When I layed down on the bed, another thought came to me. My very first friend from the outside world. I recalled all the days I have spent with her. We sworn to be friends forever, no matter what's happening. We even sealed our friendship with our blood. I still have a scar inside my right palm. I looked at it few moments. I smiled and remembered the days when we were running through the desert, playing by the river, counting stars on the sky... But one day, she just disappeared. That happened on the day when my father was killed by a monster. My sister, Ishizu, told me that she moved to another country. We didn't even say goodbye to each other. I felt depressed. All because of that monster. Besides that, I have another scar from my past. The scar that I have on my back. The holy scriptures that hints Pharaoh's comeback. My family has been waiting for this moment for generations. And now, it's finaly happening. Tomorrow will be that day. The day when I will defeat the Pharaoh, collect all Millenium items and revenge my father's death. I closed my eyes and for few moments I fell asleep.

The next day...

BIP-BIP-BIP-BIP!!! The loud sound of the alarm clock woke me up. I took it in my hand and looked at the time. It was 8.00 AM. ' Already?' I asked myself. This night was really restless. I had a strange dream - my friend came back to me. I couldn't recognize her at first, she changed herself quite lot since she left. She was standing in front of me. She looked at me and gave me a warm smile. Her smile is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my whole life. Whenever I feel depressed or something, I remember her smile. All my sorrows go away from me. She held something in her hands. I took a better look at the item she held. It was the Millenium crown. I wanted to take it, but as soon as I reached out, it disappeared. So as my friend. The only thing I remembered was her smile. But then I remembered the Millenium crown she was holding in her hands. I had to stay concentrated. I must have that crown. I got up and splashed some cold water on my face. Then I put my cloak on. The part of wardrobe I always had to wear. Yet it is a tradition in my family. Someone suddenly knocked on the door of my room. ' Come in,' I said. It was Odion, my servant. ' Are you ready to go, master Marik? ' he bowed and asked. ' I was born ready,' I replied while applying the eyeliner on my eyes. ' Tell the others that we are leaving in ten minutes. ' ' As you wish, master, ' Odion said, bowed again and left the room. I smiled. I had a feeling that I'm getting closer and closer to realization of my goal. When I finished with my preparations, I took my Rod and walked out of my room. My servants following me. As I settled into my cabin, I decided to play around a bit with the minds of my targets. Let the games begin.

KIM'S POV

This night was really restless. I couldn't sleep the whole night. I felt strange. A strange energy was running through my body. That was probably because of the crown I put on my head. Suddenly the eye on the crown started to glow again. What was worse, I left the crown next to the mirror, so the light was very intensive. I groaned and got out of bed. That light was annoying me. When I took the crown in my hands, the eye stopped glowing. Something was strange. I turned on my lamp and looked in the mirror. In the mirror I saw a girl who was looking same as me. But she was taller than me and she had a different shape of the eyes. ' Hello, Kim, ' she suddenly spoke. I screamed and jumped away. I couldn't believe. I gone mad. I was talking with my reflection. ' No, this is a dream,' I stuttered. ' I am talking with my reflection, this can't be real!' I rubbed my eyes. She was still there. Suddenly she stepped out of the mirror. The unknown girl laughed. ' Don't you recognize yourself anymore? ' she said while laughing hard. ' Look, I don't know who you are, but I know you're not welcome here! ' I yelled and grabbed the pen. That's the first thing that was close at my hand. ' Pen? Are you sirious? ' the girl said. My quick reactions were ovbiously amusing her. She provided me her hand. ' Akhesa,' she said. ' Another you.' I took her hand in mine insecurely. ' I am Kim,' I said and bowed my head down as we were shaking our hands. ' And you probably know that. ' ' Of course I know,' Akhesa said. ' I'm with you since you were born.' ' You mean like... Guardian Angel?' I asked. ' Exactly,' Akhesa nodded. ' Let's say I believe you,' I said. I was too suspicious about this all. ' Where did you actually come from? ' ' I'm from Egypt, ' she replied. ' How old are you? ' I knew I shouldn't ask this, but curiosity was stronger than me. ' 18, ' Akhesa simply replied. She looked as if she did not mind my unnecessary interrogation. ' But that's less important now,' she continued. ' I came to protect you and your friends. The Rare Hunters are coming for Yugi. And you.' ' Me? Why me? I don't have anything they want,' I said. ' You think so,' Akhesa said. ' You have the crown. I think I came just in time. I'll be your shade. Anyway, have you heard that Kaiba is organising the Battle City Tournament? ' ' Yes, but...' I was confused. How did she know his name? ' What? ' Akhesa chuckled.
' How do I know Kaiba? I know everything, Kim. However, did you signed in?' ' Nope,' I replied. ' I'm going there just to be with my squad. ' ' Please, Kim,' Akhesa said. ' You were great at Duel Kingdom. It's a pity you didn't sign in for a Battle City Tournament. ' ' I don't know, ' I sighed. ' The rules are much different than they were in DK. I will get confused and I will be disqualificated, I already know.' ' Kim, you must do it! It's important to me.' ' Why is it so important to you?' I asked her.
' Because I have a quest for you,' Akhesa replied. I was quiet few seconds. ' What kind of quest?'

*Time skip*

' The three Egyptian god cards,' I said quietly as I came out of the house and started to walk to school. I heard footsteps behind. I already knew that were Yugi and Joey. Joey is surprising me every morning with his jokes. It's true that Joey can be pain in back sometimes, but he is a good guy. And my best friend. Joey threw his arms around my neck. He's almost suffocated me. And as that wasn't enough, he screamed into my ear!
' Joey! ' I shouted. ' I knew it! ' Joey was laughing. ' Morning, Kim,' Yugi said. ' Hi, Yugi,' I replied. ' I always do that, Kimmie,' Joey said. ' Don't scare me, you know I hate that,' I replied with a chuckle. I couldn't help myself. When someone is laughing next to me, I must laugh too. ' Okay, okay,' I said while laughing. ' I forgive you, Joey. Anyway, I wanted to tell you something, guys.' ' What is it, Kim?' Yugi asked. ' Well, I don't know how to start, but... Did your puzzle started to glow oddly yesterday? ' I said. ' Yes, the glow was very intensive. Why are you asking that?' Yugi asked again.
' Because...' I started. ' I got the Millenium crown yesterday. ' Yugi and Joey's eyes were wide opened, like four disks. ' You're kidding us, right?' Joey asked when he calmed down. ' No, I'm not,' I said and took the Millenium crown out of my bag.
' See?' The puzzle and the crown started to glow intesively. Then suddenly the glow disappeared.
' Whoa!' Joey was surprised. ' What about Bakura? Did his item started to glow? ' ' I don't know,' I said. ' We're gonna ask him when we come to school.'

As I thought. Bakura's Millenium ring was also glowing. ' At first I didn't know what's happening,' Bakura said. ' I thought it was Yugi or... I don't know.' ' I don't know about you guys, but I have bad feeling about this,' Tea said. ' I didn't sleep whole night. I was talking to Akhesa,' I said. Everybody leaned in. ' Who?!' they were stunned. ' Akhesa, other me, ' I said. ' Dude, that's weird,' Tristan said. ' Yeah, who else is talking with themself?' Duke asked. ' It's not a joke, Duke,' I said loudly. ' How does Yugi has his other-he? Or Bakura? Or anybody who owns the Millenium item?' ' Boom, Kim!' Duke was not giving up. ' Are you sarcastic, or what, Duke?' Joey asked him. ' Boom, Joey. You know, the sound when the baloon bursts or when you're blowing things too much,' Duke answered. ' You want to say I'm lying?!!' I said.' I'm not lying, Duke! I was talking to my other me!'
' Boom!' Duke said. ' Duke, calm down already! ' Tea shouted and pulled his ear. ' Oww!!!' Duke screamed. ' Are you crazy, Tea?!! That hurts! ' ' Oh no, please don't, we are going to cry,' Tristan said with Irony in his voice.
Later I was in library with Tea. We were searching for some history books. I wanted to know more about the Millenium crown. ' I'll return them tomorrow, as always,' I said to the woman behind the pult. Tea and I sat at the desk. I immidiatly opened the ' Ancient Egypt' book. Usual things as clothing, kings and queens were there. ' Is there something about the Millenium crown, Kim? ' Tea asked me. ' I haven't found anything yet,' I replied. ' So much about... Whoa! ' I suddenly let out a surprise word when I turned to page 162. ' The Millenium items,' I whispered. ' I can't believe! ' ' What? Where?' Tea was also surprised. ' Look! ' I said while pointing at the picture of the Millenium puzzle. But I had to know more about my item. The Millenium crown was in the possesion of the Pharaoh Atem, 5000 years BC. New slaves came in the Palace to serve the Pharaoh. Pharaoh Atem liked one slave, a girl named... ' Akhesa,' I said.
' My spirit.' Akhesa became a Pharaoh's advisor later, because she could read and write and also she had a gift to ensure people that they are wrong and put them on a right way. She was loyal to the Pharaoh for two years so Atem asked her to be the keeper of the Millenium crown. Akhesa accepted and from that moment she was never taking her eyes off it. But something horrible happened one night. A thief king broke into the Pharaoh's tomb and stole whatever was touched by his hand. So as the Millenium crown. (...) The thief king killed Akhesa, but her spirit came inside the crown and waits for the day to be released again. ' Wow, that's a very interesting fact,' Tea said. ' She didn't tell me that she was killed by a thief king,' I said.
' Maybe she forgot to mention it,' Tea said. ' You should...' Tea suddenly stopped. I looked at her. Her eyes were blurred! She was looking at me.
' Tea, what's happening?' I held her shoulders and asked her. She suddenly chuckled evily. But she sounded like something ( or someone) was inside her. ' Tea, don't scare me like that,' I said. ' Give me the Millenium crown!' Tea suddenly spoke. ' You're not Tea. Who are you? ' I asked. ' I'll become what you want me to be. Your worst nightmare or your best friend,' the voice inside Tea spoke. ' Leave Tea's body! ' I shouted. I tried to call for help, but it seemed like the whole world stopped for a moment. ' So you're not giving me the crown? ' the voice asked me again. ' I don't know who are you, but I'm not giving anything to anyone! ' I shouted. The voice chuckled again. ' Well then,' it spoke. ' But don't think I won't come back. Be prepared.' When the voice said that, it disappeared. Tea collapsed on the floor. She was breathing heavily. ' Tea, are you okay?' I helped her to stand up. ' I am,' Tea said. ' That was weird. I felt like my brain switched off for a moment. What happened?' ' Long story, ' I said. ' I'll explain you later. Now let's go.'
