I have to pause for a second, taking in the surroundings. He owned what looked like a small mansion on a beautiful lake. It was almost completely secluded, being accessable by only a small dirt road or by water. Giant pines seemed to surround this place for miles. I turn to look when I hear somebody calls my name. I look to se a tall man approach. He is drop dead handsom, with black hair, tan skin, deep brown eyes, and an amazing body. "G-Gavin!" I reply, my heart stuck in my throat. Once he comes ip to me, he extends a hand. "Come. Let me show you around." he invites, his perfect smile shining at me. Remembering the promise I had made, I nodded but stuck my hands in my pockets. The promise was thst us three girls were never to date a guy that another friend liked. Gavin was May's, not mine. Looking slightly dissapointed, he nodds and beckons me to follow as he begins to walk away. I do, the awkward silence killing me.

"And this, is your room." Gavin finishes, opening a door. Inside is a fully furnished bedroom with a large window overlooking to lake. "It's beatiful." I breath, my eyes wide. He just smiles and leaves me, calling over his shiulder that dinner was in an hour. I slowly walk in, then quickly shut the door behind me and I slide into a crouch. Back against the door, I run my fingers through my hair. What was I thinking? I hadnt been there a day and I was finding the promise extremely hard to keep. I sigh and walk to window. To my suprise, there is a door leading out to a small balcony. I step out and gasp a little at how high I was. My room was on the top 5th story, so looking down was quite a scare. Taking deep breaths I gaze out at the lake, letting my thoughts drift in the wind. I must have been daydreaming for a while when I suddenly feel a hand on my shoulder. Gasping in suprise I turn to see Gavin looking at me with a concerned expression

Dinner was a mix of awkward silences and small talk. He mainly just asked my about colledge and I asked about what had happened while I was gone. Once we were done, he leaves to his room and I leave to mine. Even without the fighting, I still have a restless sleep ove conflicting emotions.

In the next few days, our relationship became very close very fast. Despite the awkward first night, we continued to talk and got to know a lot about each other. He would take me to all different places. There would be beautiful hikes, amazing boating trips and he once even showed me were a herd of wild horses lived. Days turned to weeks as I forgot about my friends and anyone else. Time seemed to slip by as the time to go back to college got closer and closer.
