On December 18 , the Watsons had prepared for a very special mail arrival from their family on the East Coast . Mariyah Watson heard her doorbell buzz so she called down her husband, Jared Watson, to help with the arrival . Mariyah went to her door and opened it . She looked around and nothing was in her sight . Except , a beautiful light baby on her doorstep holding a pink rattle . She was in awe & didn't know what to do .

So she called out to her husband .

"Jared ?" She called out . Jared walked to the door and seen the baby . He walked outside & tried to see who left the infant alone . "Is this some type of joke or something ? " He asked aloud . Mariyah shook her head and smiled . " This is God . This has to be a sign or something , Jared . Don't ya' think ? "

"I THINK , somebody is taking me for a damn fool ! Why did this have to happen now ... Now out of all times ! " He snarled . Mariyah grabbed the baby and told him , "We aren't broke , Jared. This could help us out ! We could get a the government to help out ."

"How many times do I have to tell you ? I'm not going to be on welfare , Mariyah ! " He shouted .

"Okay.Okay ... Be quiet , we don't want everyone to be in our buisness. " She told him , " Well what are we going to do ? " Jared asked . "We can't just leave the poor child out here . We're going to keep her . And everything will be fine , Jared . I promise . " She smiled .

Mariyah took the baby inside while Jared picked up the card that was inside the baby's cradle . "Mariyah ! Look at this ..."

The letter read :

I know you're probably wondering , why is their a baby on my doorstep ? I couldn't do it . We couldn't raise her . I hope you have enough love in your heart to give my dearest Tori your welcoming home . Thank you .

Jared and Mariyah took Tori in and made sure she had the best life she could have . Jared didn't want to toss the baby on to the road when things got hard so he got a new job which paid more than the bills . Mariyah decided to keep the baby's name as Tori Jay . They got Tori everything that was needed . They took her in , as if she was their own .

Growing up, Tori was never confused where she came from . That was until the kids at her school began to tease her and call her an "orphan " . So Tori decided to ask her "parents."

"Why do the kids at school call me an orphan , mommy?"

Mariyah reacted quick , "They're just silly kids , Tori. Don't listen to them . "

But really one question was swarming in her head ,

How did they even know ?

Once Tori reached middle school  the questions began to appear everywhere . Now she was questioning who were her real parents . The kids at school would call her adopted because she didn't have the last name of any of her "Family." Tori came home one day and asked again .

"Why are the kids saying I'm adopted ? "

This time , Mariyah and Jared couldn't hide it anymore .

"You're not adopted , honey. " Mariyah sighed , Tori sighed as well , she thought she felt relieved . "But we aren't your parents .."

Tori was in awe , " So who are my real parents? "

"We don't know . But this is what she left with you . " Jared handed Tori the note . Tori snatched it and read it quickly . Her eyes watered , " So it's true ? I was left on a doorstep ? " She asked .

Mariyah nodded , Tori sniffed and sucked it up . "Okay. " She said , "Okay."

Since that day Tori was very separate . She felt as if no one actually knew who she really was . She distanced herself from everyone , including her parents . She cut off a few friends and she decided to be alone .

That was until she met , Josiah Roberts .

Josiah was a Cuban boy and he was new to the same highschool Tori was going to . One day , Josiah bumped in to Tori & you could say it was love at first sight .

They were together for about two years . Tori was head over heels for Josiah and Josiah had so much love for Tori . He was her first love , her first . Her first everything . The two love birds eventually grew apart when Tori found out she was pregnant . Josiah didn't want anything to do with her , ever . He left after they graduated highschool and married a Caucasian woman .

Tori was broken . But she wasn't dumb . She had a beautiful baby boy named Jordan . Tori went to college to pursue her dreams . Yes , it was hard managing being a mom and a full time student . She had to manage a job and paying bills as well . Tori thought she was alone . She didn't want to ask her "parents " because they were getting old and tired . She thought that would be too much stress on them . So Tori was on her own .

No , she was not looking for love . She felt as if one heart break was enough . All she needed was her son . So she decided to put love aside and focus on reality . Tori became a successful stylist after graduation college . Even though Tori was not looking for love , it seemed like love was looking for HER.
