"Is that all the boxes?" Avi asked me, swiping his hands across his worn out blue jeans. I nodded, looking back at the house I had stayed in for the last five months. I'm now eight months pregnant, and feeling like I'm going to explode. "I'll be in the car," Avi told me, planting a swift kiss on my cheek before walking away.

Yes, as you might have thought, Avi and I are officially together. We had gone on a few dates before, and in the fourth date, he kissed me. I can't help but feel a bit guilty, because I can't stop thinking of Vic. But that's exactly why I'm leaving with Avi, to New York. He always had a love for writing, and he got a great job opportunity in New York.

I climbed up into the moving truck, a smile on my face as I grabbed Avi's hand. Finally, after some months of persuasion I'm now on the way to New York with him.

The drive was long, close to 14 hours, and when I was finally able to get out of the car, my legs felt stiff. We managed to get a decent sized apartment, not smack dab in the middle of the city. We both wanted a home somewhere a bit more quiet, and that's exactly where we went. I set a hand on my belly, leaning against the side of the moving truck.

The cravings were really starting to kick in at this point. Avi walked up to me, a grin on his face as he wrapped his arm around both of my shoulders, letting me lean into him. "We're finally here," I hummed in agreement, setting my head in his shoulder.

My thoughts wandered to Vic again. How is he doing? Has he found someone new? After that phone call I shared with him, he didn't call or text a single time. But I'm okay with that- right? "We should go eat somewhere, and then come and work," I offered, giving Avi the best puppy eyes I could muster.

A chuckle escaped his lips and he nodded, leaning down to kiss my forehead. "Sounds like a plan, we can walk a bit and call a taxi," I nodded, intertwining my fingers with his as we walked not to far to where a taxi might be. Avi whistled and held out his hands once he saw one, the yellow car pulling to a stop.

I followed him in, seating myself in the torn up leather of the car. "Where to?" I looked at Avi for assistance. I never knew these things.

"Antonio's Pizzeria please," the driver nodded, seeming to know exactly where it is. I leaned my head against the back of the seat, letting out a sigh. It still hasn't really sunken in that I'm now in New York, ready to start a new chapter of my life.

I kept quiet during the drive, looking out the window the entire time. All the buildings are tall, full of light. People all around are calling for taxis, walking with friends, or even completely wasted and tumbling out of a bar. It definitely was a different scene here, on that I'm not used to. "Here you are," Avi handed him some money and we quickly got out of the car.

"Let's hope this is good," I told Avi, following a nod of agreement. The pizzeria was small, and cute looking. The place smelled amazing. The smell of freshly baked pizza filled my nose as we sat down at a table.

"Welcome to Antonio's Pizza, what can I get you?"

"A medium pepperoni pizza please," I said, smiling as I met eyes with Avi.

"And to drink?"

"Two waters," Avi finished, waiting until the waiter walked off the speak to me. "You know every time I look at your belly, I get reminded it isn't mine." I frowned, looking down at what was my baby. He was right, though. What are people going to think if he or she is born with tanned skin, and brown eyes? I shifted in my chair a bit.

"I know," My heart was clenching now. Seemingly for Vic, but I have to let that go. I got consumed by life after I left, and now I'm with Avi. I'm with Avi, and I have to remember that. Vic was just a stepping stone in my life, nothing more. He has to be, even if I dorm want him to be.

"I'm sorry," Avi apologized, and I waved my hand as if to say it's okay. "I just think that so often now, considering you're so far along," I nodded, now the worst time to be thinking of Vic. Avi reached across the table and took my hands in his, giving me the best smile he could give.

"I'm okay," I lied, adding in a fake smile to finish it off. It's so often that Avi brings up Vic, or the baby that isn't his, and it makes it harder to move on. But I can't go out and say that, I must've used all my smart words in Vic that morning. And here we go again with Vic.

We ate our pizza, and engaged in awkward conversation. What Avi had said seemed to shift all of our smiles to fake ones, and now our conversations are just the same as when I first moved in with him. As we rode back home in yet another taxi, my phone chimed.

I looked down at the bright little screen, and just to top the night off with a cherry, I saw it was a text from Vic. Opening it, my eyes widened a little at the text. 'I'm done waiting for you to show up at my door step. Now I'm going to show up at yours.' Frowning, I shut off my phone, not bothering to text back.

What does he mean?
