"... the autumn moon shines bright..."

Reader's POV

A month had passed since the incident in town, and you marveled at how well Kanda was taking his current situation. He wouldn't call himself a werewolf because he refused to be called something that he didn't have a choice in. But, in reality, the both of you knew that he couldn't control his wolf without the old woman's charm. To much of Kanda's dismay, he had to keep wearing it as you searched through mountains of books for, what he believed to be, a nonexistent cure. However, this slight possibility of a cure existing was enough to keep you to your research. You had made a promise to yourself as well as Kanda that you would find a cure.

However, there was a small poem with this situation.

Let me explain.

Due to Kanda's first transformation, his room was still wrecked and the window was shattered. And because Komui saw himself as a proclaimed match maker (that combined with the fact that he neglected having someone fix it), he roomed Kanda with you. This made the situation sort of worse for you considering you had a very obvious crush on Kanda, and even worse, Komui knew it. And since making chaos was Komui's specialty, he started snooping around, trying to see if you two were "together." The both of you, not giving Komui the satisfaction, decided to act as if it didn't even bother you.

Well, that might have been easy for Kanda, but for you, it was increasingly hard not to feel frustrated. 'Why do I feel so bothered by this?' You thought to yourself. 'Is it because the feelings I have for Kanda?' The more you thought about it, the more stressed you became.

Unknown to you, Kanda could tell that you were stressed, though he wasn't sure of what. And when he approached you about that particular subject, you were surprised, especially with how he brought it up.

You had gone back to your room, exhausted. You had another rather disappointing day of research at the library. But you refused to give up on breaking Kanda's "curse," as he called it. You decided that you would try again the next day, confident that a way to break the curse existed and that it was right under your nose. You collapsed on your bed and closed your eyes, trying to clear your mind. You were so desperate to relax that you didn't notice the door open and close. You were almost relaxed to the point of falling asleep, when suddenly, you were pinned down, making your eyes pop open. You were met by stormy grey irises encircled by black eyes. "Kanda...? What are you doing?" You struggled to get free. "Kanda, let me go!" He shook his head, sweat beading down his forehead and his grip tightening on your wrists. These were signs that his wolf was trying to get out. "Tell me why you've been so stressed." His voice was low and rough, sounding very sexy and making your heart beat a mile a minute. Your eyes fluttered as a blush threatened to burn across your cheeks. "I'm stressed because I can't find anything to help you."

"Don't lie to me. Tell me the real reason." He growled.

"Komui is snooping around--"

"No more lies."

"But it's the--"

"(Y/n), stop lying!" He screamed.

You squeezed your eyes shut, trying to stop the threatening tears of pain as Kanda's grip became even tighter, no doubt causing bruises. You couldn't take it anymore, for your brain was screaming at you to stop lying to yourself.

"Because I'm in love with you!" You screamed.

You kept your eyes shut tight, afraid to see the scowl that Kanda was giving you. You were afraid of his rejection. But instead of a laugh or even a snort, Kanda was silent and his grip on your wrists loosened. He collapsed on you softly, nuzzling his face in the crook of your neck. You felt his shoulders slightly jump, and that was when you knew that he was crying. Your eyes popped open and you looked at him. "Kanda...?" You felt his arms wrap around your waist and he fell to his side, bringing you with him. He continued to cry into your neck.

"(Y/n)..." He sobbed silently. "I'm so... so sorry for scaring you..."

Your heart started to beat even faster as Kanda's embrace tightened.

"Because the truth is..." He lifted his head from your neck and looked at you with puffy red, cool grey eyes. You waited for his words, but your lips were sealed with a passion-filled kiss. Your emotions took over your logic and you wrapped your arms around his neck. The kiss seemed to last forever and your mind went blank. Outside that door, no one se knew of the kiss you both shared or the love that you felt for each other as you fell asleep in each other's arms.

((Timeskip brought to you by what may or may not have happened between you and Kanda cx))

You woke up to the moon glowing red outside your window. 'Wait, am I... dreaming?' You asked yourself. Then a voice echoed through your dream. "Even a man who is pure of heart..." Your head turned to your door as it swung open freely like a limp tree branch. Outside was a blackened sky and a glowing red moon shining down from above. "And says his prayers by night..." Suddenly, a lonesome howl echoed from behind you. Your heart beat faster in anticipation as you turned and saw a familiar black wolf with storm grey eyes walking towards you. "May become a wolf..." Kanda. He then started to morph back into his human form, revealing the man you had so desperately fallen in love with. He stood face to face with you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pressed his lips against your ear. "Go back to where this all started." He whispered. He then pulled back and he had wolf ears. He placed a clawed hand on your cheek, softly caressing it. "Are you willing to do anything to release me from this curse?" Without thinking, you nodded. His hand slips to the back of your head, and in the blink of an eye, he tilted your head to reveal more of your neck. In a fierce growl, he clamped his wolf teeth down hard on your neck.

You woke up in shock and tour hand should up to your neck. When you didn't feel any bite marks, you breathed a sigh of relief. You closed your eyes and then recalled the words Kanda had whispered in your dream. '"Go back to where this all started..."' Your eyes widened and you looked at Kanda, who was still sound asleep next to you. "Romania." You whispered. You got up and left for the library. The answer was so obvious now. Romania was the one place that you hadn't thought to research. You had been too focused on the origins and folktales of werewolves, and all along, the answer was there where it all started. Romania

It was early morning, but that didn't necessarily mean that the library was closed. You immediately started your search for books on Romanian folklore. What you had failed to notice was that you had a second shadow. That is, you didn't notice until a hand planted itself on your shoulder. You jumped and turned around to see Kanda, his eyes glowing slightly in candle light.

"Kanda, what are you--?"

"Why are you here, (Y/n)? It's not even dawn." He said, his eyes a bit distant.

You blushed a little, thinking about the dream you had. You then straightened. "Romania."

"Excuse me?" Kanda raised a questioning eyebrow.

"Romania is where this all started." You explained. "I didn't think about it until now, but that woman somehow knew that we would get attacked. I think that's why she gave me the charm."

Kanda nodded and held his chin. "It may be that you were the target for the first creature. You are beautiful after all."

Your jaw dropped and you both turned beet red. At first, you couldn't believe what you had heard. He thought you were beautiful. You gathered all of your courage and placed a soft kiss on his lips, making his cheeks turn even redder. He tensed up but eventually started to participate in the kiss. After a moment, you both pulled away and Kanda touched his forehead to yours. "You don't have to do this alone. At least let me help." You closed your eyes with a smile and nodded.

Kanda's POV

I couldn't help but feel worried about the current situation. The wolf caged inside me wouldn't be caged for long. It was growing stronger as (Y/n) and I grew closer and closer. 'I will protect (Y/n). By any means necessary. As long as she's near me, we'll be cursed forever. There is no cure for this. We will be cursed... 'till death do us part.'
