"Not here sweet heart," A very deep, raspy voice whispered in my ear.

I quickly turned around and slowly backed away.

The person had black hair, blue eyes, and full pink lips. In his right hand, he held a pistol. In his left he held a cigarette.

"Who... who are you?" I managed to squeak out.

"Nobody of your business," he cocked his pistol, and pointed it at my head. "Any last words sweetheart?"

"Max, DON'T," another voice rang behind me. I turned, but only to be pulled into Max's arms. He put his gun to my head, whispering random shit into my ear.

"Oscar? You look terrible," I spoke out. His eyes were puffy, he reeked of alcohol and cigarette smoke. Max pushed the barrel of his gun harder into my skull.

"Beg for him to save you," He whispered into my ear. The chills went up and down my spine.

"No," I attempted to get the gun away from me, I eventually elbowed him in the gut.

Max loosened his grip on my arm and I used my chance. I swiped the gun out of his hand and punched him in the face, catching his jaw. I backed away quickly and got ready to fight more.

The gash in my back started bleeding again, the smell of blood found its way up to my nose. Damn.

"You got a feisty one here Oscar. It's a shame that I have to kill her" Max chuckled after he regained his balance.

"You will not," Oscar growled.

Oscar ran and stepped in front of me, pushing me back slowly. I didn't resist, I ran out the door and checked who was lying dead on the floor. My father, he had a bullet hole in his forehead. I ran outside looking around trying to find my brother and mother. They were hiding in the corner on the porch, my brother crouched in front of my mother.

"You guys need to run," I walked over and started pushing them towards the road. "Go to a hotel or something, I will find you there."

"I can't leave you, you're bleeding to much," Kerston looked to me, his eyes full of worry.

"Don't worry about me, go! Take mother somewhere safe," I looked to my mother, her cheeks tear stained. She was staring at my fathers dead body, I purposely moved my body and blocked her view of him.

"Come on mom, lets go," Kerston grabbed the top of her arm and pulled her up. "You promise you will me us there?"

"I can't really promise anything," I replied. I could hear the grunting and the glass smashing from inside. "Run, go!"

I watched as they both ran off down the street towards town. Once they were out of my sight I ran into the house, carefully trying not to step on my dads body.  I reached down and shut his eyelids, saying my goodbyes.

I looked up and saw glass was everywhere, my mothers china set was all over the floor. My eyes kept moving to where they landed on Max with his pistol to Oscars head.

Shit. Shit. Shit. What do I do?

I slowly leaned down and grabbed a large glass shard. I could hear Max talking to him about some shit.

"YOU KILLED HER," Max suddenly yelled out. "YOU KILLED MY WIFE!"

I stopped, trying to get this through my head.

"It was an accident! I didn't mean to," Oscar voice was shaken with fear.

"That's why I have to kill your petty girlfriend," Max spoke out loud. In one swift movement, Max had his pistol aimed towards my head. He clicked the hammer down, shit. "I'm sorry."

The gunshot was loud. I crouched down holding my ears. Wait, I'm still alive? I looked up to see Oscar now had the gun in his hands, pointing down at Max who was on the floor.

My eyes widened, I quickly got to my feet and started backing away. From this kid, this kid that I have no clue who he is.

I could hear my own heartbeat. "Who are you?"

"It's me, Oscar," he looked at me intently. The fact that he just killed someone just fazed by him with no effect. I have no clue who he is anymore, not that I knew him that well anyway.  "You have no reason to be afraid of me, I am only here to keep you safe."

"You're here to keep me safe?" I laughed out loud. "The only thing you have done for me is make my life SHIT."

His face hardened and he turned away from me. I laughed to myself once more.

I saw him roll his shoulders back, he turned towards the door and started walking out. Until he stopped by me, he leaned towards me. I could feel his breath sending chills down my spine.

"You don't think you are a burden to me? Wake up little girl," and just like that he walked out the door.
