When we finally arrived at the the pit it was around 7. Cars were parked a long the road, you can feel the excitement on the bus, people were cheering, including the person next to me.When the bus pulled to a stop, everyone stood up and slowly unloaded the bus. Most of the guys tried, I quote, tried to make an amazing entrance by acting all cool and smug, and then there was a few, walking normally, like me.
My eyes were adjusting to the bright street lamps focused on the ring. There was loud music playing to keep the audience pumped up for the situation.
There had to been at least 400 people here. Half of them were guys with cigars hanging out of there mouth and wads of money stashed in their hands, betting on who's going to win or who's not.
The amount of testosterone in the room was breath taking. My eyes darted to the other gang, investigating who was the toughest. I spotted a few girls, covered with tattoos, and not a care in the world was coming from any of them.
"You okay cupcake? You look quite pale," Mason said beside me, when did he get there?
I held the bridge of my nose, "I'm okay, just a bit nervous."
I looked at the same sandhill Oscar watched the fight from, no one was there. Disappointment appeared on my face and I sulked over to the benches to put my stuff down.
"Girl you scaring me, I am gonna go get Trevor," He walked off to find him, I must have looked worse then I thought I had.
'He almost died for you!' The voice rang through my head again. Anger started taking over, I clenched my jaw and fists. I needed to get back, I checked the hill once more, no one. I was beyond enraged.
"Gio, you're up," Trevor said, he was crouched in front of me, "Listen, you can do this, you'll be fine."
He hugged me, but slowly pushed me towards to the rink.
My challenger was a broad man, wide shoulders and muscular arms. The referee came over to us reviewing the rules and to play fair. Not long after the bell rang signaling to start.
I started seething, my anger was back. The guy obviously wasn't effected, as he lunged for me. He missed by an inch, bad move on your part. I grabbed his head and slammed it on the ground, hearing the satisfying crack, I got on top of him and started throwing punches.
He punching me in the stomach a few times, but I hadn't budged. The guy eventually went limp, but I didn't stop, Trevor hopped in and pulled me off.
I spat at the man and called him a name to myself.
I sat down on the bench with a towel and water bottle, I laughed as they drug the man out of the rink, a trail of blood left on the ground.
I looked back up at the hill, I thought I saw something move. I blinked a few times and it was gone. I shut my eyes and sighed, "He's not coming," I whispered to myself.
"Whose not coming cupcake?" Mason walked beside me and sat down.
Shoot, he heard me! I mentally slapped myself. "No one of importance,"
"The guy who you were taken from?" His eyes filled with guilt, "I held you there, I saw your face when I took you, I could hardly stand to do it myself.
"Why does life do this to me?" I lifted my knees up to my head and started crying, Mason wrapped an arm around me, he used his other hand to tilt my chin towards him.
"It'll get better cupcake," I cried on his shoulder, but Mason was soon taken away from me, it was his time to fight.
I watched him take his anger out on the guy, something we had in common I guess.
Soon after it was my turn to fight, I won, few injuries. The doctor on scene came and checked them out, just a few bruises and busted knuckles.
Mason was sat beside me with his arm around my waist, " You better cupcake?"
I nodded my head, and forced a smile.
"Good, because I thought you lost it," He smiled, his eyes gleaming and all.
"Conneair, you're up," Half the crowd cheered for him, why not, he was a pretty boy with a bad boy vibe.
This time I didn't watch his fight, I laid back on the bench where he had just been sitting, focusing on the stars. I tuned everything out, I looked at the hill once but shortly gave up on him coming.
