***NOT EDITED***
His words shocked me. They shook through my body like an earthquake moving through the earth. I looked out the door and watched his silhouette disappear into the darkness, not even turning his head to peek back. He gently placed the pistol in the waistband of his jeans, one swift movement and it was hidden from the humans eye.
"NO!" I screamed in fury. He turned around with a stern look on his face. I hurried and walked out the door following his disappearing shadow. Smoke rolling out of my ears. "That's not fair. You can't just say that and expect things to be okay. Oscar, when you came into my life, everything was thrown upside down. I don't even know who you are anymore. You shot my best friend and you just killed someone without even flinching, how? Most importantly, why?"
"What do you want me to tell you Gio? Huh? That I'm an innocent young adult on his way to great things? That's not me G, I've had to do things that I was forced into; I've had to kill people without showing emotion because it shows weakness. There are too many people following me to show my weak side like I show you." His facial expression softened, a sigh of defeat came out of his barely part lips. "I'm not a teddy bear G, I warned you before we became close that I'm not a good person. But, you, you are the one who pursued something that can't be fixed."
"Me pursuing you?" I rolled my eyes and huffed. "I didn't follow you Oscar, the last I checked, you were the one who barged into my damn house!"
"Just give it up Giovanni," He turned his head and looked off in the distance, a big sigh flew out of his mouth. The alcohol stench still was there, but he wasn't drunk anymore. He looked exhausted, his hair was sticking up in every direction. His t-shirt was bloodstained and torn, there was dried blood from his nose after a punch that almost broke his nose. He slouched in pain, his body shook as he swayed.
"Oscar, look at you. I'm not going to give it up, I've caused this. Come back inside and I will get you cleaned up," I couldn't help but feel bad for him, I had caused this. He was in pain, yet again, because of me. I gently took his hand and brought him inside the house. Leaving our shoes on, we walked through the glass and debris left from the chaos that was here an hour before.
I sat him on the coffee table, placing his hand in his lap. "I'll be right back, do not move even a finger,"
I heard him chuckle as I walked away. Following the maze of the hallway and up our creaky stairs. I swiftly walked to my bathroom and grabbed all the necessities I would need to take care of Oscars wounds. Gauze, tape, a damp washcloth, peroxide, and a couple of tablets of Tylenol. I quickly walked back down the stairs, hopping over Max's body.
Oscar was still sitting on the coffee table, his hands neatly placed in his lap. His facial expression was unreadable, my eyes connected with his and I immediately looked away. The crunch of the glass under my feet echoed through the house.
I set all of the supplies on the floor next to the table. Briskly, I used my foot and swept away all of the glass as best as I could. I crouched down and sat on my knees, getting everything organized and ready to go. I grabbed one of Oscars bloody hands and gently dabbed at his knuckles.
Daringly, I looked up to see him gazing down at me with an empty look spread across his face. I looked back down at his hands and continued dabbing the blood stains. My mind started wondering the the events yesterday, how Mason was and if he was doing okay. I couldn't bare the thought of what had happened, I'll always have a grudge for Oscar because of what he does.
My back had stung, but the gauze my dad had placed there was still holding as far as I knew.
I moved on to cleaning up the dried blood off of Oscars neck and slowly moving up to his face. I dipped the cloth in the bucket of warm water and ringed it out. I moved back up to his face and continued cleaning up what blood was left. His eyes followed my every movement, full of emptiness and sadness.
