"Close your eyes," Oscar demanded... In a nice way.
"Okay?" I wasn't going to question his actions, so I slowly closed my eyes and covered them with my hands.
I heard Oscars car door open, and soon enough mine did too. Oscar gently grabbed my arm and guided me to wherever we were going.
He pulled my hands away from my eyes and said, "You can open them."
As I opened my eyes, it was quite dark outside, but I could see a bright street light, I could see the outline and shadows of some kind of hill. "What are we doing here?"
"Climbing," he simply answered. He let go of my arm and worked on climbing to the top of the nearest hill.
"Okay..." I said quietly. I walked to the same hill he had gone up and used the same footholds he had used.
Once we got to the top he turned to face me. "Every 4 to 6 weeks, two gangs have an annual fight. And thats tonight, and I thought you would want to watch them me," He pointed to a fighting ring, the street lamp I saw earlier was shining down on it. There were people circling each other and others chanting at them.
"Oh, wow, um, okay," I turned around as one guy got knocked down by the other. I winced, hearing the loud chants of the crowd.
"Hey, whats wrong?" Oscar asked me, looking intently at me.
"I'm uh.. not a big fan of the whole fighting concept," I winced again, the chanting getting louder. Music started playing signaling intermission or something.
"If you want, you can climb on the rest of the hills, just don't fall down," he said, turning and focusing on the fight again.
I slowly descended down the hill I was on, I went to the next hill and worked my way up to the top. I looked around once I had reached the top, I spotted a small baby deer grazing at the edge of the woods.
For that moment I forgot I was on top of a hill and I stepped back and my foot slipped. I started tumbling down the sand hill of doom.
I felt scratches arousing on my skin, some deep, some hardly breaking the surface. I could feel blood already dripping from some of them.
The tumbling eventually stopped, and I could see Oscar running towards me.
"Are you okay?" He asked, wiping some of the dirt off of my clothes.
I opened my mouth but immediately shut it because a guy yelled, and it wasn't from very far away.
"Hey! They didn't pay to get in!" Sure enough I looked to my right and we were a good twenty feet away from the fighting rink. In clear sight.
About twenty guys were walking towards us, the one that announced that we were here included, and they weren't your average looking guys, they were tall, buff, and just plain mean looking.
I knew I wouldn't outrun any of them, and I slowly sat up and tried to get up, of course Oscar was already on his feet. When there's me, struggling.
"Gio run!" Oscar nudged me. I turned around, only to be stopped by more guys.
"Um, Os...car," I backed up a little so I was next to him. I was a deer in the headlights.
What do I do?
