JAMIE
"That's ten dollars." I told the middle-aged lady in front of the counter as I put the juices that she bought inside a paper bag.
The sweet lady nodded, grabbed a bill from her flower designed purse and placed the exact amount on top of the counter. She then smiled at me which I didn't understand why. We don't even know each other, why would she smile at me?
"Thank you, dear." She said before she finally turned her back away from me.
Three tall guys soon went in the counter. The one at the middle with raven hair brushed backwards has this apathetic face as he placed three plastics of lollipops on the counter. The other two were wearing a huge grin on their faces.
They've always been like this for over a month. Not missing a single day, buying the same set of lollipops. What's with them and their lollipops anyways? It's kind of creepy.
"5 dollars." I muttered.
"Why are you always like that?" the guy with brown hair on the left side said.
I quirked a brow and stared at his blue eyes.
Chuckling, the brown haired guy shrugged, "You're so quiet. You should smile to your customers more."
"I'm properly giving you my service as a cashier. That's all I could give." I said as I got the ten dollar bill that the raven haired guy placed on the counter.
The guy on the right chuckled as he traced his fingers on his blonde hair, "Don't bother, Jace. Maybe that's what made someone so whipped."
I stared at the guys in front of me. I admit, they're all good looking and have that strange atmosphere around them. Though the other two had always been the cheeky ones and would open small talks, the guy at the middle just stares at me like I'm some prey on a hunting area. His gray eyes were shouting dangerous and I hate having connections with dangerous people. Not that I will associate myself with them...or any other living person around.
A phone suddenly rang, that boring constellation ringing tone. The raven haired guy was the one who grabbed his phone from his pocket and answered it, turning his back away from us.
"Luke Crosswood." The raven haired guy stated in a demeaning voice which doesn't even seem like a greeting, it sounded more like a threat.
I placed their change on the counter together with their bought stuffs inside the paper bag and the Jace guy was the one who carried it. Before turning away, he winked at me as he said, "See you again, Jamie."
"Dude, you shouldn't do that." The blonde haired guy chided as they strutted towards the door where the Luke guy stood, "She's off limits."
Off limits?
"It's fun. Alpha doesn't mind so why would you?" Jace chuckled and the blonde hair just sighed.
I really don't understand what they're talking about but one thing's for sure, it's something about me. Since there are no other customers around, I listened closely to their conversation. Even though they're almost whispering, I could clearly hear everything. Not only because of the echoing silence inside the store but I also had that amazing inhumane body senses ever since I was a kid.
"What's wrong?" the blonde hair asked Luke, worried about the latter's now frowning face.
"The Vaughns know about her." Luke twitched his tongue as he let curses escape against his breath.
"What shall we do?" Jace asked, the cheeky grin completely disappeared from his face.
Luke's gray eyes suddenly locked with mine that had me taken aback so I cleared my throat and pretend that I'm arranging the jars on the counter even though I just check it a minute ago.
