JAMIE
"Finally." He stood in front of me, snaked his arms around my waist and gave me a soft peck at the top of my head, "You can stop ogling at me now."
"Luke..." my words came out as a murmur as I wasn't able to prepare myself for his sudden arrival. Hearing his history made me felt closer to him and his eyes on me were eclipse after a hundred years. Special. I didn't know whether it's the mate bond that they're talking about or something else but I know I'm starting to get selfish when it comes to him.
"I guess I can't say that this is a bad thing." Lorraine said and I turned my head to see her grinning from ear to ear while William's arms were snaked around her shoulder. They were looking meaningfully at us so I pushed Luke away. Lorraine then chuckled, "My dear brother cancelled the afternoon warrior training to ruin our date, Jamie. Thanks to you he's starting to get a life."
Luke cleared his throat and took Wilhelm from my arms, as if he didn't hear what Lorraine had to say or he's just pretending not to. Says his tensed expression with guilty written on his forehead.
"Where do you want to go little boy?" He asked Wilhelm and smiled. Yes, he freaking smiled!
"I want to go to space!" Wilhelm cheerily wiggled.
"Space?" Luke looked towards us with a confused expression like he just thought that Wilhelm literally would want to go to space.
Lorraine chuckled, "Relax. I won't let him go to space if that's what you're thinking." she nodded her chin, "He just wants to go to the arcade."
"Oh." Luke just mumbled. Like who would even believe something like that, right? Only Luke!
When we finally reached the game center, Wilhelm was jerking in excitement in Luke's arms while the devil's advocate scanned his eyes around.
"Where's this space thing?" He asked.
Lorraine bobbed her head to the farthest machine, "It's the Star Wars Machine."
Luke marched towards it and I followed, both adult and children stepped back out of his way in fear, may it be human or werewolf. But Luke acted indifferent as if it was the most normal thing. Is he really that bad why people are acting like this?
Checking around the machine and placing the excited Wilhelm at the seat of the Star Wars ride, Luke turned to me, brows all furrowed, "How do you turn this thing on?"
I smiled. Luke looked troubled that I found it cute. I guess he also has his flaws, "You don't know how arcades work?"
Lorraine, who stepped beside me, her hands crossed above her chest, chuckled, "Now that you mention it, this is Luke's first time in an arcade."
"Really?"
She nodded, "He has always been the school, train and home kind of kid."
I looked at Luke who was still trying to figure out how the machine works and it wouldn't take a minute more for him to break the whole thing. Wrinkles of frustration started to appear on his forehead. Luke is just a different version of me. We were both deprived by things that we should've had. But unlike me, his existence has a purpose and his whole pack relies on him. He had always been selfless, doing everything for the people around him and disregarded his own.
