LORRAINE

The only thing permanent in this world is change. That's what I have witnessed and proven these past few days. Not once in my entire life have I expected that my uptight brother could loosen up. I hope this change would be constant.

Or so I thought...

"David! How many times have I told you to focus on your opponent?" Luke marched towards the poor kid in front of other teens who are members of our pack and toppled him down to the grass in one arm, making him grunt. He then pinned the boy's neck with his other arm, "Tell me, who do you want to protect?!"

"Family..." David squeaked, his voice trembling in fear.

"Louder!"

"Family!" David roared.

"And who are your family?" Luke continued.

"The Penombre pack!"

"Good." My devil twin nodded and got off of David. Two other teen wolves then helped the poor boy get up.

I stood at the side together with the girls who were as scared as the guys standing on the middle of the huge lawn, some even gasped when Luke toppled the poor boy down. It was Saturday and we usually spend three hours for the physical and combat training in weekend mornings. During the weekends, since the kids have school, they are required to wake up at five in the morning and do the morning physical exercises with the girls.

"Listen." Luke faced the whole battalion of training teenage wolves of our pack and they all stood straight in a military stance, their hands behind them and ears all focused on the Alpha that they fear, "I don't want any weaklings here in my pack. If you're scared and ready to get killed then I don't need you here. I'll give you a chance to leave the pack now. Those who stay will receive training from me and you know what to expect."

Though Luke said that they're free go, it's not as if they could go someplace better than this pack. True that the rules here might be so strict but you can sleep soundly at night without worrying about your own safety. I just sighed. I guess it's not easy to soften his stone cold heart even if it's Jamie.

"What is this?" I heard Jamie's voice and I turned around to see her together with Caitlyn, Wilhelm on her arms, the twins Tilly and Milly and another one of the kids, Kevin. She sure is becoming popular among the kids.

Oh God. I glared at Caitlyn. The once in a week combat training is scheduled today and there will be too much for someone like Jamie to handle. Caitlyn mouthed the words She insisted to and shrugged. I just sighed. Jamie and Luke are just starting to get to know each other and I don't want her to see this side of him yet.

Without noticing that Jamie had her eyes on what he was doing, Luke roared, his eyes as intense as a pissed of lion, "Focus!" he clicked his fingers and ten adult wolves stood in front including my mate and Jace, "Now group into five and you will be against one of the adults."

I looked at Jamie, "They're having their morning exercises. This is kind of boring. Would you like to go back inside?"

To my dismay, she shook her head, "If I'll be staying here for two months, might as well know your routine here, right?"

I sighed. I know there will come a time that Jamie would have a part in the pack's routine but she's still trying to figure out who she is. I just hope she won't hate Luke after this.
