"She what?" Luke asked, completely exasperated and shocked with the situation.
"She hates you. She hates the idea of you & me being friends, dating, being anything. She hates the idea of you." Rayha sighs, looking at Luke.
"Everyone makes me seem like a monster..."
"Everyone thinks you are."
"Am I?"
"No."
"Well tell them to stop," Luke whines, squirming in his seat.
"Luke," Rayha chuckles, "I can't convince my mother, let alone the whole town."
"Yes you can, you're very stubborn."
"Stubborn?"
"Er--persistent, you're very persistent."
"That's better." Rayha smiles at Luke.
"There you are, I've been looking for you everywhere!" Ashton suddenly emerges from the walkway. Rayha's face suddenly flushes red. "Oh.. So you're Luke?"
Luke raises an eyebrow. "That I am, who are you?"
"Rayha's boyfriend, Ashton." 'Oh God,' Rayha thinks.
"Oh.." You can practically cut the tension with a knife. "She never told me she had a boyfriend." Luke chokes out.
"She didn't?" Ashton looks at Rayha with an unamused expression.
"Didn't think it mattered?" Rayha questions herself.
"Nice meeting you, Ashton." Luke stands up. "I have to go." Luke begins to speedwalk towards the trail.
"Rayha?" Ashton squeaks.
"I'm sorry."
"Why?"
"I still love him."
