Karen's PoV
I'm seriously dreading how Emmylou is going to react when we tell her everything later. I don't want to upset my angel but I need her to know the truth. We are gonna wait till Dixie-Rae and Jolene are in bed, then we are gonna sit her down and tell her what I promised to tell her last night.

I was sat relaxing in front of the television with Phil when Emmylou peaked her head around the lounge door.

"You wanted to see me?"

She looked really worried/Concerned/Scared all in one.

"Come in sweetheart,"

Phil said.

"It's time we told you everything."

She walked over and curled up next to me on the sofa. The look on my poor Angels face made me want to cry. She looked seriously petrified.

"Emmy sweetheart I'm not your real dad."

"WHAT!!"

She squeaked.

"Yes you are!"

"No I'm not darling. I adopted you when you were 17 months old."

She turned to look at me. I could the tears building up in my gorgeous girls eyes.

"Mom, please say he's lying."

"I wish I could Emmy babes I really do."

I hated to much seeing Emmylou so upset. It was truly heartbreaking. By now she was look down towards the floor.

"Miss Bramlett's got something to do with all this hasn't she?"

My angel said looking back up at me directly in the eye. I was that close to crying myself all I could do was nod my head at her.

"What happened? Please tell me everything. I can take what ever you've got."

I looked at Phil and he nodded.

"We'd better start from the beginning Karen babes or guarantee Emmy will get confused."

"You remember me mentioning that I was best friends with Phil...

"DON'T CALL HIM THAT. HE'S MY DAD!!"

Emmy interrupted squealing at me.

"Sorry darling, where was I?"

"You said that you and Dad were best friends,"

"Thank you. Yeah well we were 11 and seriously inseparable. It happened one fateful afternoon down at the local play park."

Phil could tell that I was struggling to carry on so he took over.

"Your mom was sexually assaulted Emz,"

"WHAT!!! That was you??"

We both looked at her with confused expressions on our faces.

"We were looking at old newspaper articles in English Literature and I came across one about an 11 year old girl that was sexually attacked in the old play house by a 20 year old college student. Where you that 11 year old mom?"
