Ch.2: We Can't Be Together
I ran as fast as my legs could carry, using all my strength to put as much space between me and my mate as possible. When I thought I was a safe distance away, I stopped to catch my breath.
"What are you doing? Why did you run away from our mate?" my wolf demanded furiously. She was dying to run back to him and jump into his arms.
"He is the Alpha's son. You know what the Alpha did to us. We cannot be mates with him," I reminded her sternly, refusing to give in to her urges and return to our mate.
"Maybe he is different. Fate made us mates for a reason. You didn't even give him a chance," she muttered miserably.
I was about to reply when I was suddenly pushed back into a nearby tree. I knew from the familiar delicious scent that suddenly surrounded me that it was my mate. His arms wrapped around me as his body pinned me to the tree.
"Mine," he whispered as he buried his face in my neck, inhaling my scent. I was too shocked to move as electrifying sparks and tingles of pleasure appeared where his skin made contact with mine. My wolf was elated and growling in pleasure as she basked in the touch of her mate. Finally I found my voice.
"Release me please," I whispered, but it came out more as a whimper. My mate heard me though and slowly unwrapped his arms around me while taking a step back. Instantly my skin felt cold without his touch and I could feel my wolf whining about the loss of contact. Ignoring her, I studied my mate. He was beautiful- like Greek God/male model beautiful. He was tall, almost a foot taller than me, and built but not bulky. He wore a black dress shirt that hung to his frame, showing off his tight muscles and hinting at the eight-pack underneath. His hair was dark brown and spiked up in a sexy messy look and I had to fight the urge to run my fingers through it. But my favorite features were his eyes- they were a dark green but they shined with a brightness as they stared into my brown ones.
"Why did you run from me," he asked and I swallowed at the sound of his husky voice.
"T-This is a mistake. We can't be mates," I stammered.
"Why not," he said, tilting his head in confusion. He looked so hot right now. I wonder how it would feel to kiss those lips. They look so inviting, full and-Wait-no-Focus Aliyah!
"This is wrong. I'm not the right one for you," I explained. I watched as he raised an eyebrow.
"Well fate seems to think so. And I agree. You are perfect," he said, his eyes on my face. I blushed at the compliment, suddenly feeling conscious under his gaze. He reached out to cup my face and I automatically took a step back, watching as the hurt flashed in his eyes.
"Please don't," I said, as I shifted my gaze to the floor, too afraid to see his expression.
"Are you rejecting me?" I could hear the pain in his voice.
"No!" I said quickly, shaking my head. I couldn't reject him. I didn't want to. And even if I did, my wolf would never let me. She already loved him.
"Look at me," he whispered and I slowly rose my head to stare into those green orbs. He reached out to touch my again and this time I flinched but didn't move away.
"I would never hurt you," he whispered as he cupped my face. His touch was different from the Alpha's. He was gentle and affectionate, and I could feel my body relaxing under him.
"How do I know that," I whispered back.
"Trust me," he answered simply.
"But I don't even know you," I replied.
"Well, let's change that. I'm Caden Black, your mate, son of Alpha Nate, and the future Alpha of the Blood Mountains Pack," he said in a smooth voice. "And you are?"
"Aliyah Gillian," I answered.
"Aliyah," he said and I shivered at the sound of my name rolling out of his mouth. "Beautiful name for an even more beautiful girl."
"Thanks," I said with a blush.
"Aliyah, how about we make a deal," he said as he leaned against a tree.
"A deal," I repeated nervously.
He nodded. "I want to take you out."
"Out? Like a date," I said confused.
"Yeah- a date. Go out with me and at the end of the night if you decide that you still don't want to be my mate, then we'll work something out. But be warned. I'm not letting you go that easily."
A date. He was asking me out. One date wouldn't hurt, right?
"Just say yes already," my wolf said impatiently.
"Okay," I said. "One date." At my words, a smile filled his face. If I thought he was beautiful before, it was nothing to how breathtaking he looked when he was smiling. I quickly looked away before I got caught staring. Pushing himself off the tree, he walked towards me.
"It's getting late," he said as he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, causing me to shiver again. "We should go before people start getting worried."
I nodded and followed him out the woods, although I knew no one was going to be worried about me.
That night, I laid on my bed thinking about Caden. He was everything a girl would want in a mate, but I'm not sure if I wanted him to be mine. I mean he was the son of Alpha Nate Black, the same man who terrorizes me everyday. Plus, he was the future Alpha of the Blood Mountains Pack. I wasn't even a part of this pack. Did I really want to be its Luna? I was so lost in thought that I almost didn't hear someone enter my room. I sat up when I realize who it was.
"Get up slave," Alpha Nate said with a sneer. "We have some unfinished business to take care of." I tried to hide my disgust as he pulled me roughly up against him, pressing his body into me. Suddenly he froze and bent down before sniffing my neck.
"Who touched you?" he growled, gripping my arms tightly.
"N-No one," I stuttered, trying to calm my beating heart.
"You lying whore," he roared before slapping me, sending me crashing down on the bed. "You've been sleeping around, huh? Well I'm going to show you what happens when you decide to be a disobedient slave."
I closed my eyes, trying to keep the tears at bay. I knew there no point in fighting- I was no match for an Alpha, especially a ruthless one like Alpha Nate. He would kill me in a second. As he unzipped his pants and pulled my bottoms off, I zoned out, drifting off into a world of no pain. A world where I could live peacefully with me and my mate and not suffer any consequences. A world where I would have lost my virginity to a bloodthirsty Alpha.
It didn't take him long to finish and when he did, I waited until he had left the room before stripping and lying under the covers. There's no way Caden would want me- I'm nothing but damaged goods. Dirty damaged goods. Those words stayed in my mind until I cried myself to sleep.
Did you like it? Let me know. Please leave a comment. I want my readers opinion. Oh and if anyone knows how to make a cover, I need one for this story. So if you have a cover let me know and the one that I like the most for this story I will put that as the new cover and I will dedicate a chapter to the maker. So thanks. See you next time. God Bless.
