Puppy Love Injustice

My love and I are going to bed
A swift knock at the door changed our lives
There stood two men of the law
Did someone call for help here
No sir, wasn't us
The door shuts
But not for long
They kick and kick
Splintering wood, breaking in
Intruding in my house
Sprayed down with pepper spray
No one can breathe
Dogs going nuts
Lize' was so brave, she tried to protect us
But they blasted her in the face
No longer does she live
Next was Dylon
He couldn't share the same fate
I screamed his name to try to save him
I watched as the officer raised his gun
Two shots, point blank range, they killed him too
When the bullet hit my baby
Hit me too
Right in the face
Blood gushing
No one cared
Until I could no longer scream
I laid down on the ground
Barely able to see
Standing over me
One of them says
Partner we fucked up
No one offered a helping hand
In the distance I hear the saving siren
One last look, I see my love
Whisked away to the hospital
Blood everywhere, eight stitches to close me up
The chief of police visited me that night
To see this girl that was shot by his boys
Pulled into a small interrogation room
On pain meds, not sure what I said
Finally released to go home
Only to see the bodies of my furry friends
Lifeless, killed in trying to save us
From two cold hearted men
Never again will I feel a kiss on my top lip
Because it's numb, nerve damage they say
Our lives changed forever
And what was the purpose?
Injustice served
It's a hard pill to swallow
Rest in Heaven Lize' and Dylon
And to the part of my life
Where I felt secure
When seeing those here to serve and protect
