When you accept the responsibility of taking in a child that isn't yours, there is so much to consider. The past life of a broken child can haunt them forever if they aren't shown something different. You have to prepare to be unprepared. You can't treat a traumatized child as if they are normal because they aren't. Things they have endured have changed them into survivors. Meaning they will do anything to simply survive. They need to heal and see that their past life can remain in the past.
Tears stream down my face knowing how things ended. No one deserves to be dropped off with no goodbye. No one deserves to live in fear daily that they will lose your love. No child deserves to feel so badly about themselves that they want to die. How can you live knowing you played a part in his death?
