KID'S POV
Nothing is the same; nothing is normal. Not even my bed is soft and warm like it should be.
I haven't eaten in days, or even caught any rest, for that matter. I... I just can't get my mind off of... her.
Her laughter. It's... perfect.
Her smile. I't perfect.
Her eyes, her hair, her skin, her voice... her soul.
She is perfect.
But... she called me perfect? No... she called me more than perfect. How could she think that? All i am is asymmetrical garbage! Worthless reaper scum.
It must have all just been a dream... a crazy, long dream. Yes, that must be it. I must be sleeping, in the middle of a dream.
Yet, it was so vivid; the memory of her face. Everything.
"Kid!" Liz yelled from outside my door, yanking me from my thoughts. Her fist pounded on the symmetrical double doors. "You've been in there for days! Get your sad ass out here and eat something or you'll starve!"
My stomache ached for food, and it rumbled loudly; I ignored it, not aknowledging the hunger that twisted my sides.
"Kid, just say something!" Liz urged, her voice loud with panic.
"Yeah, Kid! You didn't die or anything, did you?" Patty joined in her usual high-pitched voice.
"No..." I whispered in a raspy breath, barely audible. The sound of my own voice shocked me; I sounded terrible.
"That's it, Kid! I'm sick of this. I'm coming in!" Liz announced in a loud voice. Opening my mouth to protest, I couldn't find my voice.
'Please don't come in,' I thought loudly in my mind.
The door flung open and heavily slammed against the wall, the sound ringing in my ears; I cringed. My two weapons stormed in, only to find me sitting on the edge of my king-sized, velvet bed, looking pitiful and only half alive. The silence that followed was immense, and it seemed to last forever as they scanned my condition with wide blue eyes. I continued to stare at the floor pointlessly, feeling drained of life.
"K-Kid, you look... awful," Liz stared in shock for a while at the bone almost poking through my pale skin. Her head shook back and forth a few times, as to shake her thoughts back on track. "Seriously, what has gotten into you?" You haven't eaten, slept, or spoken since... since..." she thoughtabout how many days it's been. "Since..." Then her facial expression altered; something had connected in her mind. I peered at her with dull eyes and no expression, too lifeless to barely think.
A huge smile stretched across her face, as did Patty's face, as they both looked at me with expressions I didn't quite recognize.ALEXUS' POV (normal)
You happily agreed to Crona's invitation, although the bell rang before you could talk more about the subject.
"Alright, class," the crazy Dr. Stien started. "Today we're going to start another dise-" He was cut short by the intercom, from which a pesky buzzing noise poured into the room. The teacher and students alike dropped dead silent and concentrated on the small box mounted on the wall.
Shinigami-Sama's voice rang through the speaker, a bit fuzzy from the constant buzzing in the background, but his words were still understandable. "Hey! Hiya, students and staff! Apologies for the interruption, but will all teachers report to the Death Room at once?" His voice was happy and bubbly, but still serious. "Also, sudents, you may leave now. School has been cut short for today."
The whole classroom erupted in cheers and excited laughter. Paper airplanes glided across the room as students poured out nito the halls to utilize their new-found freedom today, and also glad to be missing the daily dissection lab.
Maka was irritated, hoping this wouldn't affect her grade; she was top of the class, as usual, and she didn't want to lose that. Crona let out a little sigh of relief, more than happy to not see another dead animal's disgusting insides.
On your way out, you walked next to Crona and asked him what he wanted to do, smiling at him.
"U-uh, what would you like to do?" He wasn't used to people asking him his opinion on things, so he shot the question right back.
You shrugged your shoulders. "We could just take a walk through the city," you suggested. The two of you exited Shibusen through the main entrance, squinting your eyes from the bright sun reflecting off the pavement, which almost blinded you.Crona accompanied you through the streets of Death City and chatted with you about whatever seemed to come up into your conversation until the sky faded to a light periwinkle.
You stood in front of Maka's apartment's paint-chipped door and turned to Crona, his clothes still a little damp from accidentally falling into the fountain in the main square about an hour before. You giggled.
"Bye, Crona!" You waved at the Demon-Sword meister, your other hand resting on the door knob.
"Bye bye," he bid farewell and turned to walk off. He was becoming more comfortable around people, and you were glad to see that.
You grinned and turned the handle to the simple abode; your foot was barely inside the door when Soul greeted you.
"Someone stopped by earlier to see you," he informed you from his seat on the sofa, his voice as non-chalant as ever.
