4: Revealed

"Adam, carry me out into the rain." I instructed. He did so and I felt the water fall on my face and arms.

I turned invisible right when my tail appeared. Adam freaked out and dropped me, earning a flop noise. I fell right in the small spikes on my tail. "You can turn invisible?" Leo asked, obviously shocked.

"Yeah, and thanks for dropping me Adam, right on the spiky part of my tail." I replied, flipping over in my stomach.. Adam shrugged and trid to pick me up again but failed. "Can you please turn visible?" Chase asked, growing impatient.

I took a deep breath and made myself visible.

"YOURE A MERMAID!" Adam yelled. "Adam, why are you yelling?" Bree asked.

"BECAUSE SHE MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO HEAR ME!" He yelled back. "Adam, I'm a mermaid, not deaf." I replied.

"That explained the phone call." Chase thought out loud. "What phone call?" I asked.

"Uh, you were talking to someone about a mermaid council? Oopsie!" He shrugged, putting his hands in front of him defensively. Hos face looked apologetic. I turned around and started to bend the water into a big sphere. Chase looked scared and watched the ball. I made the water go above his head. I dropped it on him and then bent another sphere but it had a hole in it and I shimmied it down Chase to about his waist then I used my gel ability and molded it and hardened it.

"Don't listen in on my conversations. Got it?" He nodded fearfully and tried to get out of the donut.

At home.....

I explained where and why and how I got here, like I did with Bree. They all seemed to understand.

"There's just one thing I don't understand." Chase spoke up.
I looked at him, waiting for his question. "Who were you talking to, on the phone?"

I sighed. "There's a time, when I will tell you, but the time is not now." He nodded and walked away.

"How do you sleep?" Adam asked. I looked at Bree.

"Nixie sleeps in the ocean, which is convenient because its like 5 minutes away from the house." Bree explained. Adam nodded. "I could sleep with legs, but I grew up as a mermaid, and sleeping with legs is just weird." I shuddered.

"Nixie, you know, that brilliant me, inventor genius, can build you a tube and fill it with water when you want to sleep and then drain it in the morning." Mr. D explained.

"Wow, your ego just does not quit." I commented. He flipped his invisible long hair. "But that would be lovely. Thank you."

"I will start on it tomorrow, so as for now, sleep in the ocean." I nodded and turned to Adam.

"So whatcha wanna do?" I said in a childish voice. "Wanna watch a movie?" I cocked my head to the side.

"What's a movie?" Adam facepalmed.

"Oh, I forgot you're not familiar with land yet." I nodded. He walked to the TV and grabbed a box of some sort.

"What's that?" I pointed. "That is a movie case. It protects the DVD disk thing inside!" He smiled his perfect smile.

We sat down and he put in a movie called, The Fault in Our Stars. It was a sad movie. Hazel, the girl with something called lung cancer meets Augustus, a boy with leg cancer, I think.

At the end I started leaking from my eyes because it turns out that Gus dies instead of Hazel. "Adam, why are my eyes leaking water?" I started freaking out.

"Nixie, relax. You're crying." He responded, wiping the tears off of me.

"Crying?" I asked. "Crying. Like you see or experience something sad and you start to cry." He inched closer to my face. " It's OK to cry."

"Look at you, Mr. Dictionary." He laughed lightly as did I. I leaned in closer and closer, as did he.

"What are we going to do now?" I whispered. "What us land people like to call, kiss." And he smashed his lips into mine. They were soft and warm and I think I saw fireworks. I smiled onto the kiss and so did Adam. It was magical.

He pulled apart, much to my disappointment. "That was amazing. I felt fireworks!" I replied and Adam nodded.

"Nixie. Sweet, loving, fierce, beautiful Nixie. You are my best friend but I want to be something more. Will you be my girlfriend?" Adam held both of my hands and looked right into my eyes. I knew I was disobeying the pod, but I really like this boy. Besides, I'm to far away for the pod to even know.

"Adam. Amazing, funny, lovely, adorable Adam." I mimicked what he did to me. "Yes!" I said hugging him. He hugged back and I could tell that this was going to be a great relationship.

Adams POV

She said yes! She leaped into my arms and we hugged for like 10 minutes before Bree came from the lab.

"Hey guys. What's new?" She grabbed a water from the fridge. Nixie squirmed a bit but then relaxed.

"Nothing new, except Adams my boyfriend." Nixie smiled and I smiled too. "I'm so happy for you!" Bree smiled as well and headed back down to the lab.

"Yeah, and now since you know I'm a mermaid, I got nothing to hide, because I read a book about how to not start a relationship off with lies. And I know that you have nothing to hide." She snuggled close to me as we finished the movie.

Yup. Nothing to hide. I thought as we snuggled. I changed the movie to Inside Out. Honestly, we didn't watch it because we were to busy sleeping.
