October 23rd, 1971
Dear diary,
All I hear is kids like me screaming from other rooms. These mean grown-ups took me to this dark room that had no lights and no windows. It was very scary. I'm afraid of the dark! The only time I can write is when I get closer to the door where the hallway lights are.
I just want to go home. Why did dad leave me at this terrible place? It scares me so much.
The grown-ups told me that a special doctor will be seeing me tomorrow morning. But no matter how many times I tell everyone, I'm not sick!
