"Hello?" Krista's sweet voice whispered to the mysterious person in her back yard.
"Krista is that you?" Ymir ran out of the bushes. "I didn't know this was your house."
"Hi Ymir." She smiled in her confusion. "Why are you in my back yard?"
"I was at Erwin's party." She said but immediately spat out her next sentence. "I didn't drink or anything. What you said has been on my mind all night." Ymir looked down and smiled.
"The cops came didn't they?" Krista asked. Ymir nodded. "Oh god it was my parents I know it." She was obviously disappointed.
"Krista I don't know what to do." Ymir began to get worried. Krista cocked her head to the side in question. "I told my parents I was staying at Annie's house tonight but she left Erwin's party and if I get my car and go there now I'll be caught for sure."
"Don't worry." Krista said grabbing Ymirs hand and pulling her inside. "You can stay here tonight."
Ymir was secretly celebrating inside but she didn't let it register. Krista took her upstairs and into her bedroom. The walls were painted light pink and adorned with all of Krista's cheerleading memorabilia.
"Don't worry you can take my bed." Krista smiled. Ymir rolled her eyes at her kindness.
"You can too." She mumbled.
"What?" Krista asked.
"Oh nothing. Thank you so much Krista. But why are you doing this?"
"Because he's the right thing to do... Isn't this what you would've done?"
"I guess I only would've done it so you owed me."
Krista took a moment to consider. "I don't believe it. I think you're a good person." She smiled at Ymir. The sweet smile that had the power to melt Ymir's heart.
Krista shut off the lights and covered Ymir up with her blanket. "Goodnight Ymir."
"Wake up! Ymir please!" Krista was shaking ymir away. It was now five, not even a full three hours later.
"What what's wrong?" Ymir rubbed her eyes.
"My parents are getting up you need to hide." She helped Ymir up and pushed her in the closet.
"Ironic." Ymir thought.
Approximately ten minutes later her mom and dad walked into her room. "Good morning honey." Her mother said "we'll see you when we get home from work."
"Okay mom and dad love you bye." Krista ran her sentence together.
"Is something wrong?" Her father asked.
"No dad!" She snapped.
"Young lady I do not appreciate that attitude." Her father said sternly.
"Yeah..." She thought about it for a few moments before going off "and I don't appreciate you calling the cops on a bunch of kids I go to school with. Guess we don't always get what we ask for."
"Krista Lenz! Don't you dare speak to us that way! You're grounded for the week!" Her mother walked into the room and snatched her phone. "We will see you later and that is final."
Her parents finally left and Krista yelled "UHG!" And threw a book at the wall. Ymir slowly emerged from the closet.
"I'm sorry." She said.
"It's okay Ymir." She smiled.
"Why did you do that?"
"It was the right thing to do. Besides my friend Ymir was over there. And I don't know want them to get my friends in trouble."
Ymir smiled when Krista said they were friends. Without thinking she ran over to Krista and picked her up in a hug. "Thank you so much." She whispered.
