Chapter 11
"Magnus!" I yelled, panic and fear over flooding my veins, my body turning cold and rigid.
Everyone turned around, alarmed by my ejaculation. Magnus swayed on his feet, his face pallor, eyes glassy like marbles, as he crumpled down into a heap, his fingers clawing the ground, his hair turning ash-white and then going still.
I made a move, but Anna shook her head, as she rolled up her sleeves, running to Magnus.
"Please don't come near yet. Coughing of blood and passing out may be a sign of contagious disease."
Her two fingers pressed against his wrist, she turned him facing the ceiling, the only indication of him being alive the occasional heaving of his chest now and then. With bated breath and a maddeningly beating heart, I awaited, as Anna examined him.
"His heartbeat is stable, and on the facade nothing but his pale face indicates that something is amiss. I have nothing with me now; only when we reach Senalia we will be able to find out. I also do not know," Anna said, frustration crossing her features.
"B-b-but will he be all right? He coughed blood!" I let out, my eyes swimming with tears that I didn't bother to conceal.
"I...cannot guarantee. The best thing we can do for him is to keep away for sufficient oxygen intake, make sure he is supplied with food and water, and wait for miracle," said Anna, clasping her hands together, biting her lip.
"Don't worry, Athena. He'll live. Plenty of times he went out to war, and when Anna was heing him, he half self-healed. His immune system is strong, and his wounds used to recover quickly," said Terrence. "He will live. Remember, he is much older than he looks like. He is strong."
But my tears continued to be unleashed.
In such a situation I naturally thought of my Earth parents. Mum and dad were the kind of people who reapected their children's privacy but at the same time took cared and gave advices, not nagged.
Mum was a housewife, dad a lawyer of JP Morgan bank.
Now I just wanted to be in their arms, crying my heart out, and their words to assuage my fears of Magnus, telling them my fears.
I sat next to Art, who seemed not even a bit worried about Magnus, tears keep coming, and Anna and Terrence talking to each other in Senalian. I had known Senalian, but forgotten. It seemed both familiar and unfamiliar.
"Ouch."
Our heads all turned, to Magnus, who lay on the floor, rubbing his head, fallen from the seats after a move.
"Magnus!"
I ran towards him, and without caring about anyone, threw my arms around his neck.
"Are you all right?"
"Er..(cough) if you let go, yes."
Both of us parted quickly, heat coursing thru my cheeks, Anna,Terrence and Art looking away suddenly I interested in the scenery outside.
"Do you need anything? Medicine? Pain killer? Or-"
He looked sheepish, as he asked,"Do you have some food?"
