A/N: VOTE, COMMENT, you know the drill.
Okay so obviously, I’ve decided to fix things up a little for this story. Yes, I drifted away from it a little but I’m back :D I decided to revise my story a little and hopefully I’ll get back into it again, making new chapters and what not. But in the mean time, please enjoy what I have and show some support by commenting and voting on each of the chapters. I would like to know what you guys think of my new more professional writing style.
Thank you for everything!

Dead but Breathing

Prologue
Halloween is the craziest time of year. People dress up as people they really aren’t. Nerds become cool, girls become want to be whores, and jocks… well I guess they stay the same.
Every year since I was thirteen I’ve gone as a vampire. You know, the real ones, not the sparkly fairy ones from stories we all know you have read at one point in your life. For the first two years, everyone thought it was the coolest things ever, but then it started getting old apparently.
So now that I’m officially sixteen, I thought I might as well go for a better view. And by better view, I mean a better view for the many guys that chase after me on a daily basis; none. So I’ve decided to go as a sexier vampire; short black shorts, short and really tight black tank top, long black lace boots, and small fangs that rested on my canines.
I had everything out a few hours before the annual teenage Halloween party. Millissa held one every year at her gigantic mansion just out of town. She invited everyone, not caring what their popularity was. No one would be caught dead not being there.
My phone rang, making me jump a little with surprise as the sound vibrated through my bed side table. I picked it up off the table and flipped it open. My best friend Sam texted me, telling me he would be there in less than five minutes. The two of us were going to hang out for a while before the party, perfecting our already amazing costumes.
I threw my phone onto my bed and picked up my black shorts, holding them up to my waist and looking in the mirror. After undressing and throwing on my extremely tight costume, I stood in front of my long mirror that hung on my door, admiring myself. But my hair! It looked horrible!
Ding-Dong
“Ugh!” I groaned and ran down the stairs to the front door, pulling my hair into a messy pony tail to hide its horribleness. Sam busted through the door before I could even get there. He was wearing a cat costume; dirty blonde cat ears and tail to match his fairly short curly hair, drawn on cat whiskers and nose, he didn’t have a shirt on, black converse, and a pair of faded blue jeans.
If he wasn’t my best friend, I’d have to fall in love with his hotness and not to mention the personality that came with it. He was silly, cuddly, and playful, just like a real cat. And after years of going to Millissa’s party dressed as things that never really fit him, he finally decided to go as a cat; perfect match if you ask me.
“Well good after noon! You look rather dashing today.” He laughed and trotted in, stretching himself out like a cat. “You look great, Myra, I really mean it.” He turned to me and smiled. “How do I look?” He tapped the golden bell that hung from the black ribbon around his neck making it jingle.
I laughed and set my hand on his chest. His heart thumped softly under my fingers, making me sigh silently. “Amazing as usual…” I rolled my eyes; mentally laughing harder then I was before, and wandered over to the stairs. “Mind helping me with this thing that’s living on my head that I call hair? It looks really bad…” I mumbled and ran my fingers through the ponytail.
“Sure thing…” He smiled and fallowed me up the steps, hot of my tail.
I closed the door behind us and sat down on the floor near my bed. Same sat down on my fluffy blue covers and pulled out my ponytail, playing with my hair a little. He was always good at doing hair and make-up. Some people swore he was gay, but he isn’t nor will he ever be. He loves to flirt with girls way too much.
He finished my hair in seconds, leaving me in awe at the master piece that sat on my head. It was simple yet amazing. It was up in sort of a normal high ponytail with my bangs hanging free and a few curls here and there. I never really liked my hair up in a ponytail when I went out because I thought it always looked weird on me. But when Sam did my hair… it looked amazing.
“Thanks a lot, this looks amazing Sam!” I smiled and wrapped my arms around him. “You’re the best.” I kissed his cheek and walked over to the mirror to admire myself some more. Everything just seemed perfect and in place. Tonight was going to be the greatest night of my life. I could just feel it!
Sam got up and stood next to me, looking the two of us over. “Two more hours, what do you want to do till the party?” He smiled and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, pulling me closer to him. “We could just chill here for a while…”
“Let’s just chill… because we all know that you’ll be hanging out with the girls and I’ll never see you again after we get there.” I smirked, knowing it was going to happen no matter what. He was like the school’s playboy king; other than the few jocks that over ruled him, but he was still pretty high up there.
I stared at myself in the mirror on last time, playing with my face fangs. Suddenly I had this feeling like something just wasn’t quite right even though just a half hour ago I felt as if everything was perfect. It was just… something felt weird but I just couldn’t put my finger on it.
