Chapter 5

~The Younger 'Vampire'

        I walked angrily out the front door, not caring what the weather was like at the time. Why? Because I was completely and utterly pissed at Sam. Ever since Lexi came into his life, he’s been ignoring me. The only person who will actually talk to me was his mom. I was starting to regret even coming over to his house.

        I kicked the nearest stone, releasing as much anger as I could. The stone flew at least five feet before tumbling to a stop. “Hey, what are you doing here?” I turned around and looked up at Tyler. He had his hands deep in his light grey skinny Jeans. “You don’t live around here, do you?”

        Suddenly, all the anger left me. His pale dark blue eyes calmed me down. Those things could probably calm a raging sea! “No, I’m staying over at Sam’s for the week. My mom’s out of town and I have nowhere else to go.” I sighed heavily, still staring into his eyes.

        “What’s wrong, you and Sam having a fight or something? You seem a little distressed.” He sat down in the grass and patted the spot next to him. I sat down and stared at my bare feet. Tyler wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pulled me a little closer to him. “Please explain to me what’s wrong, I want to help you.” He stared down into my eyes.

        I pulled my knees to my chest and buried my face into them. “He’s got a new girlfriend and I’m being completely ignored by him.” I grumbled, grinding my teeth together. “I can’t believe he would do something like that to me!” I dug my finger nails into the palms of my hands with anger. The more I talked about Sam and Lexi, the harder it became to keep my cool.

        “I know what will cheer you up!” Tyler shook my shoulders a little, making me look at him. He had love and happiness in his eyes as he grabbed my hand and stood up making me stand up too He started to pull me farther and farther away from Sam’s house. “Do you trust me?” He spoke with laughter in his voice. I nodded as he continued to pull me. His smile softened as if my words were music to his ears.

        A few minutes had passed and we finally arrived to wherever we were going. “Where are we?” I asked, looking around at the trees in front of us. They sort of had a mystic feeling to them as if they had some sort of power behind them. Tyler took my hand as he walked slowly toward the trees. A light pulse came from them, making both of us stop. “What was that?”

        “That my dear was the forest warning Tyler that he has done something wrong…” A strange yet familiar voice came from behind me. I quickly turned around to see one of the ‘vampires’ from earlier that week, Arthur. He was wearing a dark robe that slightly draped over his head to cover most of his face. “I’ve been looking for you Tyler…” He spoke again but with a much more menacing tone of voice.

        He made me shake for some reason. I could feel the evil pulsing off of him as he slowly inched closer to me. Tyler pulled me closer to him, protecting me from the man. I didn’t even know what he wanted or why he was here but it was kind of freaking me out a bit. Tyler slowly pushed me behind him so I couldn’t be seen by Arther.

        “Oh, Tyler, why do you have to be like that…?” Arthur stepped closer, sliding his fingers under Tyler’s chin. Tyler shuttered but held his ground. “What’s this?” He lifted Tyler’s chin and stared at it for a while. I peered around Tyler and tried to figure out what the Arthur was looking at.

        Before I could get a good look at whatever it was, Tyler jerked away from the man and covered his chin and neck with his hands. Arthur continued to stare at Tyler with a slightly worried look on his face. He shook his head and glanced down at me. “It’s your fault…” He muttered under his breath. “You’re slowly killing him…”

        I looked at him like he was crazy. How could I possibly be killing Tyler? Suddenly Tyler slipped his fingers between mine and tightened his grip around my hand. “Leave us alone…” Tyler growled. In a quick flash, almost like lightning, the man leaped forward and tackled Tyler to the ground. I slowly backed away, terrified for my life and Tyler’s life.

        Tyler fought back as Arthur tried to pin him to the ground. They both were much stronger then they looked. Arthur bit Tyler’s arm, making Tyler whimper in pain but he bit back and much harder. Arthur jumped back and wrapped his hand around the mark that Tyler had left. Neither of them were bleeding or bruised for some reason. I took a step closer but someone was holding me back. I tilted my head back and stared into the eyes of the younger ‘vampire’ from the party. He looked a little less menacing but still, he had that evil glare in his eyes.

        Before Tyler could react, the younger ‘vampire’ pulled me away from the other two. Where was he taking me? I struggled to make him let go but it was no use. He had a tight grip on both of my arms as he dragged me further away from Tyler and Arthur. I wanted to scream for help but I couldn’t find my voice.

        I was able to break and a strong and high pitched scream came from my mouth. I didn’t even know I was that loud! Tyler quickly glanced over at me and complete horror wiped over his face. As he tried to sprint toward me Arthur grabbed him from behind and yanked him back. I continued to scream but the younger ‘vampire’ just kept pulling me away. Soon I was completely out of sight and that’s when the horrors began…
