CHAPTER 3
"We will find her," the voice whispered in the dark.
"Find who?" I asked, for the millionth time, looking around, my voice echoing. "Who do you want to find?"
"We will find her, my darling. We will find her," the voice sounded again, farther this time.
"Where are you?" I screamed, spinning around? "Who are you?"
"Remember who you are."
The voice was fainter now and, just like before, I sprinted after it, desperately trying to find the source.
"Please!" I yelled, "Show yourself!"
"Remember..."
"Mar! Mar! Wake up, bloody hell!"
I was suddenly freefalling onto the ground, landing with a loud thud, painfully falling on my shoulder.
"Finally!" Talia puffed, ducking and walked back from my bed, "Oh, mighty Gods, I thought I'd never get you up."
I rubbed my shoulder as I looked at her from the floor. "What's the matter?" I asked, still groggy from sleep and the dream, which has been haunting me ever since I turned fifteen.
"What's the matter?" Talia scoffed, flipping her gorgeous chestnut hair over her shoulder, making her ivory skin strikingly white, "Mar, you've been asleep for more than ten hours. Are you feeling okay?"
"I'm fine, Lia."
She looked at me a second longer before pulling open the curtains of my little room. "Let's go," she announced, carefully tying them back, "We have a lot to do."
"Like what?" I asked, making my bed.
"Like everything! You guys got so much stuff yesterday, that our storage is literally overflowing. So, we need to update the List, organize..." Lia went on, ticking off the things we had to do today.
Talia was my second in command, like Caleb was for Xander. We established some ground rules of order, leadership and responsibilities in our group, just so everyone was content.
