Chapter 5

                 Music blasts and lights illuminate the gymnasium when we enter Prom.
"OMG!," Lily exclaims," This is so exciting! Let's dance!"
Lily pulls Jase away and he groans.
"I just wanna eat," I moan.
"Agreed!," Skylar laughs.
We hold hands and walk to the food.

A while later, me and Skylar are slow-dancing together.
"You look beautiful," I smile.
"I know," she laughs," You look amazing."
"I just wore my dad's tux from his wedding."
Skylar laughs," So this is like our wedding."
"Not really. I mean we're only 18 and....."
"Oh, shut up, Partner," and she pulls me into a kiss.

I'm drinking punch when Jase and Lily approach me.
"Hey, have you seen Skylar?," Jase asks.
"Yeah," I say," I've seen her several times, she's my best friend!"
"Not like that!," Lily says," We need to take a totally amazing group selfie, this lighting is amazing!"
I roll my eyes and they walk away and look for Skylar.
Then, she runs up to me," Kevin!"
"Hey, Jase and.....", I begin.
"Not now!," she gasps," Someone's after me because of our adventure last night!"
"What?!"
"I need you to help me! Please, Partner! I love you!"
"Skylar, calm down! Who's after you?!"
Before she can answer, the gym lights turn off. Everyone screams as I shout for Skylar.
When the lights come back on, Skylar's not there.
And my Partner In Crime is gone.
