“So, are you excited for your date this afternoon with Jake?” Alex asks as I enter the bus.
These few days have being quiet uneventful nothing really important had happened, I keep seeing Jake around and he waves and comes and says hi, always giving me a kiss in the cheek. The teachers all said that next week we are going to have the baseline test. How awesome can’t wait! NOT!
“Uh excited is an understatement, I’m more than excited I just can’t wait!” I say mega excited! “Awe you guys are too cute” Alex says rather annoyingly, “Thanks Alex” I say not so thankful.
Today is going to be perfect our date will be perfect! I can’t wait! The day went by in a breeze once again nothing really happened always the same boring routine. It already 4:00 and I have to get really for my date with Jake. I take a 30 minute bath I shaved everywhere and cleaned myself like I haven’t taken a bath in a week.
When I got out I put lotion everywhere and some deodorant and perfume. I curled my hair in gorgeous long big curls, I don’t like putting make up on so I just put some eyeliner making my hazel eyes look amazing then I put some mascara on and a tiny bit of blush.
I heard my phone vibrate and I checked who it was and it was Jake, the message said,
Can’t wait for our date, dress casual but put a jacket on, it might be cold. – Jake
Alright thanks, can’t wait either. – Silver
I put on a cute no sleeve white shirt with black ripped jeans some cute white sandals and a small leather jacket. I put on my long owl necklace and small owl earrings that go with the necklace.
When I checked my phone it was 5:50. He might be here any minute. I put on some more perfume I grabbed my phone and put it in my back pocket. I went down to wait for Jake and I asked my mom how I looked “You look beautiful sweetie you always do.” She said in a mom caring voice
“Thanks mom you’re so sweet”. She gave me a huge hug and said, “Uh my little girl is growing up so fast. Look at you, your first date.” “Mom please stop”, this woman really knows how to embarrass me, even when it’s just me and her “I’m sorry sweetie”.
Before I could answer her I heard a car beep. I quickly yet slowly went outside and I saw a black fiat 500 car, which is my favorite car by the way. I saw Jake rolling down his window and I smiled he waved and I got on the passenger seat. “Hey” he said smiling brightly “Hi” I said shyly but with a smile just as big as his “You look great” he said honestly, I grinned and said “Thanks you look great” he smirked and said “I know” and I chuckled.
“So where are we going”, “First we’re going to the mall, we’re going to eat something, then we’re going to watch a movie and finally we’re going to go bowling” This is going to be awesome. “Sounds awesome” sounds awesome really silver that’s all you got, the guy probably thinks you have issues. “It will be.”
It was a 15 minute drive, we talked a lot about ourselves we learned many things about each other. We finally arrived at the mall and he opened the door for me, “Well thank you sir” “You’re very welcome ma’am”
We walked for a little while until we found a cute small Italian restaurant and we decided to eat here. We ordered a peperoni pizza for the both of us. We ate and talked and laughed it was super fun.
Then the unthinkable happened, “So I love your car it’s the same car I want for my 16” “Thanks my dad bought it for me for my 16 birthday” Wow his 16, Well duh Silver he has to be 16 to be able to drive “Oh you’re 16” did I seriously just ask that, duh Silver gosh! “Well yea that’s why I can drive” he said obviously, I wanted to disappear “Yea sorry dumb question” “it’s okay” he chuckled.
“So how come I’ve never seen you before are you new this year” “Yea I mean I’m in 9th grade” he stopped eating and looked at me wide eyed “Yea I know I don’t look like it but I am” he kept staring at me “are you okay?” I asked concerned that seemed to knock him out of his trance “Uh yea sorry I just-“ he trailed off not knowing what to say “uh-“ he continued “I can’t do this” now it was my turn to stare at him wide eyes “Can’t do what?”, “This, us” “What are you talking about?” “I mean you’re beautiful really but you’re in 9th grade I can’t be with a 9th grader.”
Oh my gosh! I can’t believe he just said that, I knew it, I knew this was too good to be true, I didn’t say anything but a small tear left my eye, I was so angry “Look try to understand please.” “I understand, take me home.” I said anger flashing in my eyes. “Look Silver-“, “I said take me home” I said angrier this time. He paid and we left to his car. The whole ride home was silent.
I’m such a fool why would I guy like him ever even look at me. I hate him! I can’t believe this is happening. I knew it I knew something had to happen.
When we were outside my house I took off my seat belt but when I was going to open the passenger door, it was locked. “Unlock the door Jake”, “Silver please-“, “Jake don’t, please don’t, you’ve done enough” he sigh but unlocked the door.
I ran to my house when I got inside I heard my mom ask “Honey how was your-“, I ran up the stairs to my room not letting her finish the sentence. I jumped to my bed and started crying on my pillow, I knew it! I’m so stupid so stupid so stupid! I can’t believe this! “Sweetie are you okay” my mom asked getting inside my room “Mom I really want to be alone” “Sweetie-“, “Mom please.” I said not letting her finish her sentence once again.
When she was about to close the door I said “Mom why can’t I find a good guy“, my mom quickly went inside and hugged me patting my back, “oh sweetie it’s okay, you’re so young you don’t need to worry about guys right now you’re only 14 I say you enjoy your silver life and just have fun with your friends go places with them and just be happy. You don’t need a guy to be happy sweetie, like that saying says “no boyfriend no problem, so come on wipe does tears away and give me a killer smile”
I chuckled at my mom, she was right I don’t need a guy, I have friend guys are headaches I don’t need that. “You’re right mom thanks you” I gave her another hug I wiped away my tears and smiled at her. “Alright sweetie if you need me I’ll be downstairs”, “Okay mom good night”, “Night sweetie”. When she closed my door I quickly called Alex, she answer in the third ring.
“Hey girl how was your date” she said excited
“It was terrible Alex”
“Oh my gosh were you crying what happened” She said and I could hear her voice full of concern.
I told her everything that happened, I told her sorry that I couldn’t ask him if he forgive her I didn’t have time of course she said it was okay. But I had to make this right I heard the sadness in her voice I had to tell him to forgive her. She said she had to go but that she hopes I get better and she just hanged up and I went to sleep.
