“Hey” I say as I walk to the parking lot where Skylar is waiting for me.
“Hey come on get in” Skylar said as he opened the passenger door for me.
“Where are we going” I say as Skylar gets inside the car.
“We are going...” He stopped and looked at me funny
“It’s a surprise” He said winking at me. Are you freaking kidding me, more surprises?
“Fine but make it fast I need to be home by 6”
“Don’t worry” He says suspicious. What does he have in mind?

“Why are we outside a movie theater?”
“Wait, are you planning a date for us?” I added
“No! Is not for me and you” He left the car leaving me in suspense, he opened the door for me and I stepped out. First person I saw as I came in through the door was, Jake.
“What are you doing here?” I ask
“I knew that if I asked you to come with me you wouldn’t have so I told Skylar to do it for me”. I’m confused, why would he do that.
“Why would you do that?” I asked
“Well I like you a lot and I wanted us to finish our first date” He said
”What date? Oh yea I remember, the date that you turned me down because I’m in 9th grade” I said getting mad.
“I didn’t turn you down, I just… said that we couldn’t be together” He said not trying to make it sound bad but it did anyway
“Oh but now that I have a boyfriend we can, But it’s way too late” I said spinning around ready to talk away but once again he grabbed me by the arm and spun me to his chest.
“Can you please not do that anymore” I say
“Okay fine, let’s make a deal, if you watch a movie with me till the end I won’t do that again” He said still holding me.
“Okay fine” I say to just shut him up.

“I think we need to talk” Jake says in between the movie
“Okay, go on” I say
“Listen I can’t get you out of my head, after our first date I couldn’t stop thinking about what I told you, I regret it so bad, I’m an idiot I know, but after thinking and more thinking I noticed that I don’t care, I don’t! I don’t care that you’re in 9th grade, you’re perfect the way you are and I like you so much”
“Jake what you said was really sweet and I do like you a lot but-“
“You do?” Jake asks excitedly
“But I’m dating Austin”
“Silver the only thing he will do is hurt you” Jake says trying to make me understand
“Jake I don’t know that, so I’m giving him a chance, But you have to let me do this till the end maybe if it doesn’t work out with Austin we can talk but for now please just leave me alone please”
“Okay if that’s what you really want then okay”
“Thank you, Oh by the way I really need to talk to you about something really important”
“Uh sure what’s wrong?”
“I know that you and Alex dated last years and I know why you guys broke up, listen she didn’t mean to sleep with your best friend she was just drunk, she wasn’t thinking”
“She lied to me and to my parents and she knew that my dad, my hero died from alcohol and she still drank she didn’t care that she lied”
“That was a year ago, she’s sorry why can’t you forgive her she didn’t mean to she just wanted to have fun you can’t hold a grudge forever, come on we’ve all made mistakes just please forgive her, for me”
He sighs “You’re right, I’ll talk to her tomorrow” He says with a smile
“Yes thank you so much! I really have to go home though, before my mom worries”
“Okay come on I’ll take you home” He says
“Uh I think I’d be better if Skylar takes me home, I mean if my mom knows that I’m dating Austin and then she sees you again I don’t think she’d get the best idea”
“Alright fine”

As we pulled over at my house I said “Thanks for everything Skylar, you’re a great friend”
“It was my pleasure, and who knows maybe we could actually be close friend” He said with a smile. He is such a nice guy, I think I’m going to pair him up with Alex, they’d be great together.
“You know my friend Alex?” I ask and I see him stiffen at the sound of her name
“Uh yea why?”
“I just thought you guys would be great together” He stiffens even more
“Um, Alex is beautiful but um, she doesn’t like me, not even a bit”
“Why?” why would she not like him, his a great friend, I thought she’d love him
“We never got along”
“Oh okay” It was probably since she was dating Jake and she wanted time with Jake and so did Skylar so that created a problem.

When I got to my room I dialed Alex’s number
“Hey Sil, what’s up”
“Not much just got home from my date with Jake”
“Date with Jake! No way! What happened?”
“Well Skylar took me to the movies with Jake and I talked and watched a movie, and guess what? He said he was going to talk to you tomorrow to forgive you”
“Oh my gosh! No way! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
“Youre welcome, that’s what friends are for”
“By the way now that you mentioned Skylar I have to tell you something”
“Sure go on” I say getting a little nervous
“You know he’s Jakes best friend right?”
“Uh yea why?”
“He’s the guy I slept with”
“What!!? Oh my gosh I can’t believe I didn’t put the pieces together! That’s why when I told him you guys are good together he said you hated him”
“I don’t hate him and why would you tell him that?”
“Because he is a great friend and so are you, so I thought you guys would be cute together”
“No thanks” I chuckle at her response
“Well I have to take I bath and eat I’ll see you tomorrow”
“Okay good night”
