"Lucy wake up!" Soyar shook Lucy from her slumber.
"What?! Wait- what happened?!" Lucy asked her brother, breathing heavily.
"You were screaming in your sleep! I came in and thought you were being possessed!" He exclaimed.
"I'm fine, I had a nightmare that the devil came into my room and tried to use my blood for some ritual."
"You haven't had nightmares since we were kids. But I'll let you be and calm down, Seyah sis."
Soyar left the room and Lucy finally caught her breath.
"I went to the bathroom, than went to lay down, than drew a picture. Maybe I passed out on my bed and dreamed the rest." Lucy repeated to herself.Lucy left her room and went to the kitchen down on the first floor. She started brewing some coffee for her father who was up in his study as always. She added 2 sugar cubes and some milk as she'd remember mom would make it for him.
Lucy began to walk up to the second floor on the right hallway all the way at the end to his study.
"Father I made you some coffee because you haven't came out all day, even though that's normal." She placed the mug on his desk.
"Thanks Luce, today is kind of a pain in the ass with taxes." Lucy's father said.
"Least we don't have to pay as much as those common folks." Lucy giggled.
Ah yes, the rich family of Christians are still quite snobby about people with less money.
"You know, now that you're 12, you can start making your own coffee." Thomas, her father, said.
"Maybe but right now I still love my cinnamon tea." She said.
"You and your mother are so alike." He sipped his coffee.
"I'll leave you to do the taxes." She said.
"Alright thanks for the coffee dear." Lucy nodded then proceeded to run out and closed the door.
"Time for a little fun routine."
She said to herself.
Lucy ran down the hall, jumped on the stairs railing, slid down, jumped off, and ran around the first floor.
"LUCY-!"
Crash! Lucy had accidentally ran into her mother.
She quickly got up and helped her mother up.
"I'm so sorry mother!" Lucy apologized.
"It's fine you little monkey." Her mother laughed and scuffled up her hair.
Elizabeth, Lucy's mother, was the biggest influence on her life. Elizabeth would do chores around the mansion and always watch over her kids and try to make them as happy as she could with her power.
That is why the kids love her and didn't have as much respect for their father. They knew he'd never be completely there for her but they still loved their father because he'd do his best to take care of them.
"Mother, please stay on our side forever." Lucy said.
"Of course I will. I love you kids to death." Elizabeth said.
Lucy began to smile. Suddenly, Lucy felt a pain in her stomach and clenched it.
"I'm going to go lay down. I hate this!"
"Feel better sweetie!"
Lucy started walking up the stairs.
"Remember to take a bath before your actual bed time!" Elizabeth yelled up the stairs.
"I will!" Lucy yelled back.
Lucy speed walked to her room and jumped on the bed. She looked up at her grandfather clock sitting next to her desk. The clock read 7 pm.
She decided to take a bath now rather then later so she could sleep sooner. She then grabbed her robe and hung it on the bathroom door with a towel.
She turned the bronze handles to a warm temperature water in the modern bathtub.
Lucy began to undress and proceeded to crawl into the tub. Laying back against the tub, she placed a warm rag over her forehead.
After a 15 minute relaxing bath, Lucy stood up and grabbed the towel off the door. Drying moderately off, she pulled the bathtubs plug for the water to drain.
The warm June, summer air made her a bit sleepy after a warm bath. She wrapped the towel around her head and put on her robe, deciding to sleep in it.
As Lucy started getting ready for bed, she heard a familiar sound. She looked over at her desk and immediately knew where it was coming from. She crept over to her desk slowly and anxiously. The drawing of the sunset was still on her desk. Terrified at first, but she then realized that she did make the drawing before she got in bed. This made her feel so calm and relaxed about what had just happened earlier that evening. Lucy smirked and turned back to go to bed.
But suddenly, the scratching came back. A chill went up Lucy's spine. She didn't want to look back. She rushed and jumped into her bed under the covers.
The scratching continued and terrified her more. She covered her ears with her pillow.
She started questioning if she ever did make the drawing. Was earlier a dream?! Did she pass out and the demon put her back?! Was she hallucinating it all?! Was it just a insect or animal making the noise and she was scared for nothing?! Lucy burrowed under the blanket more. Eventually after cowering in bed for awhile, she passed out, overwhelming anxiety, heat, and fatigue would only end in one way.
The drawing Lucy had made though, was not on her desk the following morning. Inspecting the desk, she lifted up the blank peice of paper where he drawing once was. The drawing may have been gone, but it was replaced with a pentagram engraved into the wood where the drawing once was.
