Chapter 8

Tori's P.O.V

Darkness is all I have been seeing for a long long time, atleast it feels like a long time, it's not like I have a clock here to see how long it's been- "beep beep beep" what the hell is that sound and is that? The darkness is receding I can't believe it! Finally but now I have to try to open my eyes, okay come on Victoria you can do it I know you can, lol I can't believe I just gave myself a mental pep talk but okay trying to open my eyes or atleast move my body I hear voices talkng but the next second I feel this tremendous pain near my ribs, groaning out loud I wait for the pain to recede when I hear silence and then "Victoria are you waking up? Please open open your eyes T" that's Jace's voice I think to myself and then registering his words I try harder at opening my eyes. Finally opening them I squint at the bright light when I hear Jace calling for a doctor- wait why is he calling for a doctor? Looking around I see the annoying beeping sound came from a machine that's conected to me so that means surprise surprise I'm in the hospital, but wait how did I get here? Trying to remember what happend I come up blank with nothing but frustration on my part for not remembering a damn thing. "Hello Victoria, how are you feeling? Any pain?" Looking up I see a doctor infront of me with a comforting smile on his face while nurse's rushed in and out of the room, "uhm I'm good thank you just a little pain where my ribs are but further no and uh why am I in the hospital btw" I ask him feeling nervous, but before he could Jace interupts to tell me he's quikly gonna run to buy some stuff, smiling at him I tell him that it's fine and that I'll see him in a few. After Jace leaves I turn back to the doctor waiting for a answer "so you don't remember the accident and I'll give you pain medication for the pain now if you will answer some of my quistions that will be good" after an half hour of non stop quistions I feel someone staring at me, looking up I see Jayden standing there with a stunned expression on his face, smiling at his expresion I open my arms waiting for a hug. Hugging him I feel so safe like nothing will ever hurt me again. Pulling back I ask him "hey you, did you miss me? Did you really think you can get rid of me that easily?" I teasingly ask him, laughing he tells me "no and you wouldn't dare we need you to much here" as he says that Jace and Jenni walk in with loving smiles on they're faces "yeah that's true man she can't leave us, not now or ever" as the words leave his mouth a serious expresion takes over and immediatly I feel guilty for making them worry, once again I open my arms for a hug but this time it's for Jace. Hugging him I whisper telling him "I promise to never make you worry like that again okay? As you can see I'm awake and that means that I'm not going anywhere I promise" as the words leave my mouth I pull away and smile at him, he smiles back and tells me "I'm holding you to that" with a smile on his face. Looking at Jenni I pull her into a hug and I'm surprised when tears begin to make they're way down her face "I missed you! We thought you wouldn't make it, don't you ever and I mean ever put us through that again okay?" She tells me pulling away. "Okay I promise I won't" I smile at that to lighten the mood in the room, Jace opens his mouth to say something when the door opens and I'm shocked at who comes in looking down with disheveld hair and worry written on his face because it's none other than my father. Looking up he makes eye contact with my surprised ones, stoping he just stands there looking at me when suddenly tears fill his eyes and he rushes over to me pulling me into his arms telling me that he missed me and that these past two weaks have been the worst in his life and at that I can't help but feel guilty because of the reason I'm here. Years ago my mom died in a car accident when a drunk driver crashed into the side of her car and now the same happend to me except where my mom died I survived and that I realize is what hurts the most because while I'm alive she's dead, why I ask myself do I get to live when my mom didn't and as that thought enters my mind the tears begin and my father whispers sweet nothings in my ears about how it's okay and that no one will hurt me again. After an hour I'm finally left alone, Jace got a phone call and dissapeard with Jenni in tow, my father went back to work and Jayden dissapeared somewhere in the mix of when my father comforted me, lying there I think about everything that has been happening recently when the door opens hesitantly and Jayden comes back in, closing the door he looks up and a schocked expression takes over seeing me stil awake and then he smiles and comes over to me pulling me into his arms. I snuggle deeper into his arms feeling safe and protected when he pulls back and once again smiles at me "hey you, I thought you'd be asleep by now" he states staring at me, "no, I can't sleep" I reply "will you stay with me?" I sheepishly ask him, "yeah I will" he smiles while telling me this. Making space he lies next me, but what surprises me is that he pulls me into his arms and tucks me against his chest making the feelings of being protected and safe come back, after a few minutes I relax and snuggle further into him being carefull of the wires going from me to the machines. "How you holding up? Any pain?" He asks me, "I'm fine, the doctor gave me some pain medication and I think it was suposed to make me sleep but it's not working though the pain's gone but I'm not even sleepy" I tell him going for the honnest aproach, "good" he tells me "I'm glad so now I can do this" he says making me confused but before I can ask what he's talking about he rolls me under him still being carefull of the wires when he begins to tickle me once again like the last time, I start giggeling trying to push him away from me when he stops, still laughing he snuggles his head in between my shoulder and neck with a small smile on his face. We lay there for the next hour him above me and me under him with him holding me tightly to him as if afraid that if he let's go that I'd fly away, while lying like this we suddenly hear Jace and Jenni's voices laughing and joking right outside the door when Jayden gets off me and back to his original position beside me with his arms holding me close when the door opens and they walk in looking like the cat that got the cream when they see us lying together like that. "Ooh look at how cozy these two are" Jace says with a teasing smile on his face, "yeah arn't they just the cutest!?" Jenni asks with an exited smile on her face, as the words leave her mouth a blush takes over my face and I bury myself further into his chest, and the action doesn't go unnoticed by Jenni and Jace "awww" she gushes again making me blush further when Jace suddenly burst out laughing, "come on Jen it's apparent that we're not needed tonight so let's go back home and put on a show ourselfs" Jace smirks looking down at Jenni making her blush, "YOU LITTLE PERVERT" Jenni screams at Jace hitting him on the shoulder while at the same time trying to hide her blush. "Hey Jayden why don't we leave the room to give them some privacy? It seems like they need it" I say while wriggeling my eyebrows which makes all of us burst out laughing. For the rest of the night we joke around and laugh our asses of and between the jokes I look down seeing that Jayden's fast asleep and before long I'm in dream land to.
