Steven's P.O.V.
"You have crossed the line," my father was red with anger as he glared at Claire.
"As if, I just saved you from that bitch. She loves lying and she had you wrapped around her finger," Claire smirked at my father who is about to explode.
"You fucking bitch, you have no right to judge Lux. You try walking in her shoes and see what she's been through. You have no idea what it took her to get where she is today and you yelling at her is not helping. She will be my guest for a long time and if you don't like it then leave," he tried his best to stay calm but I could see he still wanted to explode.
"You can't be serious? Listen to Claire father, she is only trying to help. Why the hell is Lux living with us? She has her mommy and daddy to look after her," I was mad but I'm waiting for the right time to piss him off more.
"Lux has been placed in my care for the time being, so that means if any harm comes to her I will, so help me God, kill each one of you. I have had enough of all your shit. If there's even as much as a mark on her I'll have you locked up in prison for attempted murder of Lux Greyson," my father smirked at us. Oh you sneaky fucker.
"This is bull shit, you have no evidence!" I stood up slamming my fists on the table.
"Lux is my witness, after all you did push her out of a window and if she died you would have gone to prison for murder anyway. Don't underestimate me, I am a very powerful man," he stood up and glared at us one last time before leaving the dining room.
"Well what are we going to do? She has all the power over us," Claire snapped. She was not very happy at all. What troubled me though was why my father would protect a low life like Lux. What makes her so special?
"We need to figure out a way to make her suffer without touching her. He didn't say we couldn't hurt her mentally. We need to find her weakness," Kevin, my best friend, suggested.
"I'll have the computer geeks hack her file and then we'll see who she really is," one of Claire's little followers piped in.
"Great let's go," I said and we all left.

Lux's P.O.V.I wiped away my tears and looked up at the stars. Why did I get punished? Why did my parents have to die? Why couldn't I just have one good thing in my life? Is it so bad to just want to be happy? Is it possible for me to at least be happy for one moment? I sighed and looked down, nothing will get better unless I do something about it.
I looked up at the stars again, "I promise I'll try, I won't give up."
"I thought you stopped crying when you were very young," David sat down next to me.
"I did but what Steven said tonight cut really deep. I haven't felt like this since my first foster parents kicked me out," I replied looking him in the eyes.
"I'm sorry for what he did, he was out of line," David explained.
"You're not the one who has to apologize, Steven is. He doesn't even have to because he didn't know my parents are gone. They all just assume I have a family but no one knows I don't," I gave him a sad smile.
"You know, I think you're one of the strongest and bravest kids I've ever met. Life has taken so much from you when you were only a baby and you've been fighting to survive. You've been through so much and I hope that one day you get what you've been asking for, for so long. I hope you find your happiness," he took my hand and gave it a supportive squeeze.
"Thank you, you're one of the only foster parents who ever cared about me. Thank you for doing this, you're helping me believe that there are people out there who aren't so bad,"I looked up at the sky again and saw the two familiar stars.
"Do you miss you parents?" He too looked up at the stars.
"I was about two years old when they died. I asked my caseworker Dan what happened and he explained it to me. They were driving home on a rainy night when a drunk truck driver collided with them head on. My parents were killed on impact. I do miss them even if I don't remember them. I still dreamed that one day we will be a family again," I smiled to myself and looked down. He looked down at me and gave me a sad smile.
"I lost my daughter when she was only five. She got sick and she wasn't responding to treatments. Steven was fifteen at the time and it took a big toll on him. After we lost Rosa my wife and I got divorced, everything just broke us apart and think that's what made Steven hate me so much," David
looked broken so I gave him a hug."I'm sorry," that was all I could say. I couldn't think of anything else.
"Thank you, now come on it's cold out here and you have school tomorrow," he helped me up and we made our way inside.

Steven's P.O.V."Do you have anything yet?" Claire asked annoyed and frustrated. It's been almost an hour and the geeks still haven't found anything on Lux yet.
"No, the only file here is her school file and there's nothing interesting in there," the geek replied just as frustrated.
"Dig deeper, there has to be something," Kevin ordered.
"Wait I think I have something," he states. We walk back over to him and look at the computer. Well this explains everything.
"Perfect, make us a copy, we're going to need it,"Claire smirked her evil smirk as we started planing out attack on Lux.
