"You seem to know each other." Adli shrugged, letting go the uncomfortable feeling, "You never ignored me before, it's like you completely forgot that I was there too"
"Well I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that. Yeah, I knew him. Have I ever told you about my first love? I have, as long as I recall." Kayana replied with a flat tone plastered in her voice.
"Diemas? And what does he have to do with that?" Adli said in a confused tone, "Wait, don't tell me that guy was him."
"He is, and why are you giving me that look?" Kayana answered in a shock.
"Like what?" Adli growled, feeling a pang of jealousy in the back of his mind.
"Like you're hurt." Kayana said without giving a glance to Adli. Instead, she brought the used plate to be washed in the kitchen.
"Well, I'm hurt! Don't you see it? I'm the one who always been here for you, not him. I soothed you during your darkest times. And you ignored me like I was nothing, like I never did a thing." Adli bursted, he was clearly angered with Kayana's flat and obvious statement.
"Jesus, calm down. We just met and we didn't do anything. And why do you act like that? Geez. We only had a small talk, okay?"
"Because I like you, silly. Are you blind?"
"Excuse me..?"
"Well, don't mind it, I'm okay with you getting back together with him." Adli lied, giving her the 'I clearly don't mind' look before continuing to sip his tea.
"Adli could you please stop? He has a wife, my own sibling. Sweet mother of Jesus. I moved on. I told you I really liked someone, right?" Kayana stared in annoyance.
"Wait, what? Who?" Adli felt the hope inside her eyes.
"Um, I don't even know his name.. " Kayana flushed, feeling embarassed.
"Damn, Kayana. Are you for real?" His hope flew, hit the ceiling, and until it's broken into pieces
"I never thought it was a bad idea to tell you. I trusted you. Now, I started to think otherwise. If you're here to judge, you better not." Kayana sighed, feeling rather annoyed.
"Sorry."
He was going to finish his words until they both realized the bell has been ringing the whole time.Kayana walked lazily to open the door, only to see Yuma in his wet clothes, waiting patiently in the rain.
"Hey," Yuma smiled. "I was going to give up and go home, but I think my wait has been worth the time."
Kayana felt butterflies inside her stomach. Her cheek blushed immediately.
"Um, you need to go inside, I'm going to find you a towel." Kayana turned to close the door, she knew that her cheeks are red and she didn't bother to hide it.
"Okay." Yuma shrugged.
After a couple of minute, Kayana came back with a towel handed in her palm. Yuma was staring at the floor when Kayana examines his look, not realizing that Yuma has moved his gaze to her.
"Are you exploring me? Well, young lady. You should handle me the towel or else I'd catch some cold here." Yuma didn't forget to send her a small smirk. He never failed making girls feel pleased, thanks to his good look.
"Uh—Yes, I think so." Kayana blushed even more.
"I came here to give you the glass, I knocked several time the last time I gave you a visit. Seemed like you weren't at home, where did you go?"
"When, if I may ask?" Kayana felt so guilty. Of course she'd let him visit her anytime, even this time, when her best friend, who is currently in love with her is watching.
"I'm leaving, felt like my presence means nothing here. Bye Kayana, make sure the next time I visit you, the house is empty, okay?" Adli winked, sending Yuma a hatred glare.
"Um—" Yuma stared in disbelief.
Kayana was going to say goodbye, but Adli has already closed the door in anger. The sound was so loud that she jumped in shock and confusion.
"Your boyfriend?" Yuma furrowed his brow, "Seemed like jealousy, though."
"No," Kayana shrugged, breaking the ice in his eyes. "He is my bestfriend."
"Can I sit here?" Yuma prepared to sit, but instead he asked Kayana for permission.
"Do whatever you like to make you feel home." Kayana smiled and sat across the place he was sitting.
"You have a nice place, though." Yuma was clearly trying to find a good sentence to start the conversation. He stared at Kayana in nervousness, which she replied with a smile. Sweet, sweet smile.
" I clean it occassionally. I love having a neat house. Anyway, you don't have to replace my broken glass with the new one, I can buy it by myself. Don't take this personally, I'm glad you're here, though." Kayana regretted her words immediately. It looked like she was trying too hard to flirt. She unintentionally turned her face into a frown.
"That's kinda sweet, actually. Do you mind if I pay you a visit everytime I have a free time? I'm easily bored, even in my own house. I guess seeing you more often would be a good idea" Yuma gave her a flirtatious tone, which made the butterflies inside Kayana's stomach into the whole zoo.
"Eh—Sure, sure. I rarely go out. Y-you can go here anytime." She fluttered by her own words. She groggily bit her lips to avoid any obvious motion.
"You are trembling." Yuma moved his seat to Kayana's side. He heard her bumping heartbeat, which satisfy him even more. He didn't realize moving on was this easy. And he clearly enjoyed this moment with Kayana.
"Um—"
Yuma placed his hand in her cheek and kissed her, breaking her words. She remembered her first kiss with Diemas was sloppy and it was barely a kiss. It was a peck compared to Yuma's deep and passionate kiss. She never thought this stranger was a great kisser until she experienced it herself. Without her knowing, it was Ailsa he imagined kissing right now.
Then, the door opened.
"Hey Kayana I thought—WHAT THE HELL."
It was Adli, with his heart broken into pieces.
