Chapter -2
I dialed 911 and the ambulance reached in exact 7 minutes.
They took Amanda with them in the helicopter, while we all rushed to the hospital in my car...
When we reached there, the doctor called me in Amanda’s room.
“Thank god, you woke up I was so worried about you”
The doctor gave a huge smile…
I thought she was happy to see me tensed about the situation, but she didn’t stop smiling for some reason, and I was eager to know that reason…
I was drowned in confusion! Finally after the cumbersome silence
The doctor began-
“Congratulations Rachel”
And I, obviously started getting more suspicious,
Congratulation? To see your best friend lie on the hospital bed, thinking that she may die?
The doctor continued
“Amanda has very good news.”
“What ‘very good news’?” I exclaimed
“Rachel, she is, pregnant”
My mouth was open and I couldn't believe it... I was just in posttraumatic stress disorder, with hysterical neurosis!
It felt as if I was being hit by a blast from a giant hair drier.
Later the doctor left us alone and Amanda started crying...
“I am just 20, how can I be pregnant I…”
I *tears fell from her eyes*
“Calm down calm down, we will find a way out. Let me call Danny ok don’t worry “
And then comes the biggest surprise,
“It wasn't Danny”
And guess what, Danny was right at the door and heard everything. Vanessa called Danny,
How thoughtful of her. As usual
As soon I went out I saw him sitting on the bench immersed in frustration and disappointment,
I sat next to him, to help him hold on himself.
“Everything is fine, she will be discharged soon Danny”
Not knowing that he known’s it all... he turned towards me and said,
“You don't need to do this”
“Do what?”
“LIE for AMANDA”
I hugged him back trying to take away the pain from him
Mike took Vanessa home and Lily went with Alan (the guy from the club)
Danny and I were still inundated by what Amanda did
“I didn’t expect her to do this Danny, I am so sorry”
“Why are you sorry?”
“Because I made you meet her, and I shouldn’t have made a friend like her in my life, I should…”
