Rachel’s POV

Tick tock, tick tock.

It was so silent that I could hear the clock ticking, Danny, Stella, Eric, doronda; all were sitting with me in the waiting area, waiting for the doctor to come and brief us about her situation! We were yet not allowed to meet her as she was in Intensive Care Unit. It had been nearly 8 hours since doronda got to know about Jill being alive.

After about 9 hours the nurse came out of the room, walking towards us

I got up with fret, not leaving Danny’s hold; I looked at her hoping for an explanation of my mother’s health.

“May I have a word with Mrs. Jill’s relative” she asked flipping the pages of her notepad

Doronda asked me and Danny to go with her, so we went in the doctor’s cabin.

Danny knocked the door

“Yes, come in” the doctor said in a vexed voice

We entered in and sat on the chairs across him

“So you are?”He asked

“Rachel and Danny” Danny replied as I was still is trauma

I nodded impatiently.

He cleared his throat and went through my mother’s files, reports, and her status.

He let a deep breath down in his spine, and sighed

Making me more nervous, I tightened my hold of Danny’s hand.

“Umm, Rachel I guess you’re aware that -Jill is in the ICU” he asked with a plain tone, and with no change in the pitch of the any word

I wasn’t in a state to speak so I just kept nodding

“Hmm, I heard she was stabbed right in her liver, making her lose a lot of blood, and go unconscious. Though, she was very lucky that she was bought in here on the right time.”

I kept nodding trying to understand the situation, but failed drastically.

“If your mother doesn’t regain proper status of her blood count she might go in coma.”

I was stunned while he continued

“We can only cover the wounds and try and heal them from outside, but in this case she is having intensive internal bleeding causing her to lose a lot of blood every minute. And if she keeps loosing blood, she might not be able to hold herself longer” he ended this terror with a poignant tone

“You are a doctor? You can’t do anything and you’re a doctor? How the hell can you let my mother die” I yelled on the top of my lungs, with tears falling from my eyes constantly

“Rach, rach” Danny said cupping my face and moving it towards him so I could see him now. His eyes were cheerless, but still had that spark saying ‘everything will be fine’. It calmed me, it relaxed me.

“We will keep updating you with her status” the doctor concluded.

We went out of the room.

“I need to use the washroom” I exclaimed

“You want me to come with you” Danny asked concerned

“No, you go to the waiting area and tell them about mom” I requested avoiding eye contact

He kissed me on my forehead and left.

I went to the restroom, and looked in the mirror.

” It was me, it was ME cause of which mom is nearly dead, and it’s me!” I shouted. No one was in there to disturb me or to lie to me saying it wasn’t my fault.
