Abby's POV
After the last game, my point of view changes. At first I thought that the point was to get out, of the game itself or the entire hell this place is. Now, its to make it out alive with Ashton, and whoever else is in here that he has hid from me.
My goal is to beat him, or most importantly; kill him. Win.
Im stuck between going left, or going right between these two cement hallways. Well, since I went left the other time, I'll go right this time. I turn towards the right hallway and slowly precede down the hall, wary of my surroundings.
I reach the end of it and theres another two ways to choose from and instantly I know what this place is, a maze. And something tells me that I wont be alone. Thinking back to something my brother told me when I was younger - "Always put your right hand on the wall on the right and eventually you'll make it out of the maze" - and place my hand on the wall beside me.
I walk for another five minutes before hearing the sharp metallic sounds that I've heard way too many times before. Not wanting to turn around, I quicken my pace wanting to escape as fast as possible. The sound doesn't go away, and before I know it my feet are zooming me down the hallway in a speed I never knew I could achieve before.
I turn right at the turn, hopefully cutting of the monster chasing behind me and leading it somewhere else. But the sound keeps following me, and me not wanting to get lost keep my hand firm on the wall beside me and let it skim the wall as I run for my life.
The next turn is slightly up ahead, I can see the cement walls parting between two paths, exposing the tall hedges used as a different scenery of wall. I turn it quick as lightning and fall face first into something - someone.
I get up as soon as I can and scramble off of the person, not bothering to see who it is and grab his hands yelling "Run!" behind me. The sounds slowly fade away as we run another ten minutes, trying to loose the thing behind us so we can escape the maze itself.
We stop at a corner to catch our breaths, me sweating, and hyperventilating due to the running constantly for an hour in full fledge panic sink down to my knees. Letting my legs collapse underneath me. I place my back against the wall and close my eyes, breathing in and out trying to slow my heartbeat thats pounding in my ears.
"Abby?" A voice says, feeling a million miles away but sends my ears ringing at a high tone.
"How do you know my na-" I'm cut off by looking at him.
His blonde hair just like mine, but brown eyes that tear right through me. His tiny scar thats right above his eyebrow, cutting into it a bit. His jawline that perfectly fits his facial structure, and his three ear piercings on his right ear while two on the other.
"C-connor?" I say, not believing my eyes. "What are you... What are you doing here?" I say, now thinking of all the pain hes been through.
"Beats me, your guess is as good as mine." He says, a small smirk placed on his face as he tries and hides the pain in his eyes.
"What happened?" I say, immediately standing up and throwing my arms around him, as if I would squeeze him hard enough he would vanish into thin air like he was never here, like he was safe.
"Ive been here, Abby. Ever since that day." He says with a pained voice.
Two years ago my brother and some friends went to a party, they all seemed sober. Which is the only reason my Mom allowed them to go. One of the friends I was closest with, Daren, said that they were going to this bar near by and if we needed anything to call him.
Three hours later, it was 1 a.m and Daren and his friends said that they would be back at 11:30, 12 at the most. Wanting to make sure he was okay, we called Daren. He picked up and said that he was supposed to be home, they called a cab for him an hour ago and he got in and went home. Said he missed us.
We freaked out, the bar took five minutes to walk to and a good 90 seconds to drive to. Everyone goes there, thats where I had my first drink with my Mom. Thats where he proposed to his fiancé. We called the police and they said that maybe he took a vacation, or went to a friends house. None the less 24 hours passed and he still wasn't home. No contact on his phone or texts from him either.
And 26 hours later, he was filled as a missing person, and I was left with myself, and my mom. And the house became silent.
"You were here? The whole time? All those years..." I say to him, my tears staining his tshirt. The same white tshirt he was wearing all those years ago.
"Yea, Abby, yea I was. But not in these... games. I have to explain to you. This is more than it seems, all this. All the games."
"What do you mean?"
"It'll make sense soon, but come on theres no time to loose. If we don't get out of here soon were gonna burn to death." Connor says, taking my hand and pulling me forward.
"Burn? What do you mean burn theres no fire or anything?" I say, confused.
"I mean if we dont get out of here soon hes gonna fill this place up with lava. Just like how he did with Val, and Jade."
"...How do you know about Val and Jade?"
