(a/n: The song you sing is Lavender's Blue from Disney's new Cinderella. Another longer part.)
Thorin's POV
We found ourselves in Rivendell surrounded by elves. I blamed the wizard. He knew exactly where we would end up and that I had no love for elves. While I had no trust for them, the elves of Rivendell treated us hospitably, offering food and beds for our stay. We sat down for supper, awaiting the arrival of our host and Y/N who we had not seen since shortly after our arrival. I stood slightly away from the company, looking over the land when I heard Fili let out a small gasp.
I tried not to panic as I turned around to face the threat. I looked in the direction Fili was staring. There, on the arm of our host Lord Elrond, was Y/N. She was wearing an elven made dress of light green and her hair was pulled back from her face. No one would dare deny her beauty. I shook the thoughts from my head and joined my company at the table. I needed to focus.
Y/N POV
The elven gown was unlike anything I'd ever worn. It flowed beautifully and the best part about it was that I could move easily. I was escorted to dinner by Lord Elrond. I informed him of how I came to be in Middle Earth and travelling with the company. I heard Fili gasp as we entered the room. The dwarves were all staring at me as if I'd grown another head. As I took my seat between the Durin brothers, I whispered, "It's not like you haven't seen me in a dress before. Stop staring." At this, I earned a chuckle from Thorin. Now it was my turn to stare. I'd actually made Thorin laugh.
The dwarves quickly turned supper from an elegant affair to an all out frenzy. They were throwing food and breaking furniture. "God, I could use some rum," I muttered. Another learned trait from my father. The dwarves made a fire with the broken furniture and began singing and clapping after supper. I spoke quietly with Lord Elrond's steward, Lindir. I soaked in as much information about Middle Earth and its people as I could and Lindir was absolutely full of information.
"No one has ever asked me this many questions." I brought my hand to my mouth. "Am I bothering you?" He shook his head. "Not at all, my lady. You are most different than your companions." I suppressed a giggle. "I'm really not. The difference is, I know how to act in different situations. Where I'm from, the dwarves' behavior is normal." I looked over at my fellow travelers and smiled. It was easy to do without Thorin glaring at me. He was off with Lord Elrond, Balin and Gandalf. I still didn't understand why he hated me so much.
"Maybe Dwalin would know or perhaps Balin," I thought and made up my mind to ask one of them later. I turned my attention back to Lindir as Thorin and Balin rejoined the group. "Lass!" Bofur called to me, "How 'bout a song?"I sighed and smiled apologetically to Lindir. "Perhaps we shall continue our discussion in the morning?" I nodded and made my way over to the company. "C'mon, lass. You've been humming the same song for three nights now. I want to hear it." "It's just some nonsense song my mother used to sing," I said, hoping to dissuade them. I did not have the best singing voice. It didn't work. After a few minutes of them begging, I gave in.
Lavender's blue dilly dilly
Lavender's green
When I am king dilly dilly
You shall be queen
Who told you so dilly dilly
Who told you so
Twas my own heart dilly dilly
That told me so.
The entire company had their eyes on me expectantly, so I continued.
Call up your men dilly dilly
Call them to work
Some to the plow dilly dilly
Some to the fork
Some to make hay dilly dilly
Some to cut corn
While you and I dilly dilly
Keep ourselves warm.
Lavender's green dilly dilly
Lavender's blue
If you love me dilly dilly
I will love you
At this point, I'd even captured Gandalf and Lord Elrond's interests.
So let the birds sing dilly dilly
And the lambs play
We shall be safe dilly dilly
Out of harm's way
I love to dance dilly dilly
I love to sing
When I am queen dilly dilly
You'll be my king
Who told me so dilly dilly
Who told me so
I told myself dilly dilly
I told me so.
