Daddy coming to help was a plus, he was speaking to the police and he glanced at me every now and then. To say that he was mad was an understatement, he was pissed to the point of tears and my father didn't cry. It seemed many people were affected by the power outage, that4 I caused apparently. Chandler on the other hand almost died, if it wasn't for my father he may have. Daddy's flight was delayed and he was snoozing in the airport, when I called and I hurriedly give him the short version. He ran from there, a car would have taken too long, so he healed Chandler, mostly. It seemed he had temporary amnesia, bits and pieces were missing, so his parents would take him home. I watched as daddy shook the police's hand and began walking over to me, his face mirrored his mood, I shook involuntarily.

"You should be scared", he said but he wasn't quiet near me. Oh god, so I was dead.

"Daddy, I...", but he cut me off.

"Let's go", he said, angrily.

So we walked to a cab and got in, daddy didn't say a word as he looked straight ahead, ok so he was mad but at least he could talk to me, or was he saving it for when we got home? All I could do was sigh, resting my face against the glass, I was twenty two years old for Pete's sake and he was still treating me like a child.

When we arrived home, all the lights were on and mom was in the kitchen, doing what at this hour only god knew. Daddy paid the cab as I began walking up the steps of the porch; this was going to be a long day, since it was about three in the morning already.

"Baby are you ok", mom asked worriedly, hugging me as I walked through the door.

"Yeah, I'm fine", I said, hugging her back.

Daddy just pushed past us and went up the stairs; I heard his bedroom door slam shut.

"Rayne, you need to understand...", mommy began.

"No mom, he needs to stop treating me like a child", I said pushing out of her embrace.

When he hit the hotel room, he could pick up every scent, well the fact that we were in a hotel completed the idea of what we were there to do. After that, he didn't say a word, he only talked when necessary, that was his combat silence, he healed Chandler and we sought medical attention for him. Now he was doing the same thing, I knew this silence but it was never directed towards me. I wasn't going to feel bad about it, I was an adult after all and he needed to see that, even if he was overly protective.

"Baby your father loves you and wants what's best", she said.

"So why can't he see from my perspective",, I said angrily.

"You think I don't see from your perspective", he shouted. I didn't know he had returned downstairs.

"You don't", I shouted back, "You treat me as if I'm going to break, like I can't make my own decisions".

"And look where it's gotten you", he said, "That boy could have died; I told you, you need to better control your powers".

"It wasn't done intentionally, I had no control", I said.

"That's not the point", he said angrily, "A minute later and that boy would have died and who would you have blamed".

"It wasn't like that, we wanted to be together", I said.

"You know what your problem is; you think that you are human. You walk around going about daily routines like them, news flash princess, you never were and you will never be human", he shouted.
