Chapter 3

Mulan's Pov

I woke up again and rushed to get ready I had to drop the kids off then make it to my doctors appointment in 5 minutes. Luckily for me Shawn is still here so he can take the twins to school so I can rush to my appointment on time.

I made it to my doctors office with 5 minutes to spare. Sadly it took me 5 minutes to sign papers.

"Mulan Thomas" the nurse said

I stood and followed the nurse to the examination room.

She took my blood pressure, weight, and height.

"Mulan the doctor will be with you shortly" she said taking me to my room.

"Okay thanks" I said

I pulled out my phone and played games and checked my email while I waited for the doctor to come in.
After what seemed like hours my doctor came in the room.

"Good morning Mulan sorry for the long wait. How are you" Dr. Mina said

"I'm fine and you" I said

"Rough start but I'm good thanks for asking" she said

"Your welcome" I said

"So Mulan I was looking over your charts and it looks like you lost twenty pounds. Now I think that if fine that your eating right and I keeping your weight good but for the babies sake I'm recommending that you focus on losing the weight after the babies birth okay ?" She said

"Okay" I said

"Okay now let's look at this beautiful baby. We're gonna look for the gender today and to make sure the baby is okay" she said

She hooked up the monitor and put the cold jelly on my tummy. I looked at the screen and my eyes were welling with tears. I saw my baby moving around and I was just overjoyed seeing this.

"Mulan this is the head and theses are the feet." She said pointing at the screen

By now I had mascara dripping down my face and everything was just a beautiful mess.

"Mulan it lookes like yous having a little girl congrats" she said

I was so happy it didn't matter to me what we where having but a girl was one of my top choices. Even though I only had two choices.
After she wiped the jelly off she printed a picture of the sonogram and told me I could pick it up at the front desk along with me next appointment day and time.

I got in my car and headed to work even tho I was shit late.

Shawn's Pov
Fuck this shit

I've been at work for at least two three hours and already I'm not feeling it. I honestly didn't want to miss Mulan's appointment but I had to take the twins to daycare and that was all the way across town. We could talk about it later.

"Shawn where are the reviews I asked for three hours ago" Xavier asked

"There on your desk where they have been at for the past two hours" I said typing something on my computer

"Oh okay well heres what I need you to do next. These are the new time sheets and schedules for everyone in the building. There separated by floor" he said handing me a stack of paper the size of a dictionary

"Okay when do these have to be disturbed by" I asked

"Before lunch time" he said leaving

I looked at the clock and realize that I had twenty minutes to get 40 papers to 15 floors. There are two papers each and about 10 People per floor.

Kill me now

It was five minutes until lunch and I had just finished floor 14. Luckily for me I could leave after lunch.

Mulan's Pov

"Alright class times up switch papers with your desk partners and get out a different writing utensil" I said to my class

"The answers are on the board truthfully grade your partners paper and if I find out your graded your own paper and changed answers that minus 5 point each question" I said

I pulled out my phone and checked the time.

"Class we have a little under 6 minutes left whatever you don't finish I'll grade when your done bring me your test and pack up " I said

"Ms. Thomas can the people who want to see their grades see them?" One of the students asked

"Yes if you can stay after school for a while to see them" I said

The bell rung signaling that is was dismissal time.

"Make sure I have your test if I don't it's a zero" I said

After the class was cleared out I sat down to get a head start on grading some work.
A few papers in I realized that two students that sat next to each other had the exact same paper with same answers. I put those papers to the side and continued. Ten minutes later someone walked into the classroom.

"Hi Ms Thomas I'm the parent of one of your students" I heard a male voice said

"Hi Mr.... Kevin can I help you" I asked

"Mulan I-"

"It's Ms. Thomas" I said

"Oh sorry Ms.Thomas I was coming to ask how can I help Jade in her English class" he asked sitting at one of the students desks

"Well they just took a quiz and by the looks at Jade's answers she doesn't need help in this class she passed with all A's" I said handing him the quiz

I watched as he looked over his daughters quiz. That's when I realized what he was really here for.

"What's wrong with you" I asked

"You were my first real love and I ruined it because I was following my dads footsteps and now I have to listen to my daughter tell me how awesome her teacher is saying she wish her mom was like that not knowing that you could have been her mom" he said

I technically could have been her stepmom but....

I honestly didn't give two fucks about his fake ass rant.

"So you came to my classroom to tell me some bullshit for what" I asked crossing my arms over my chest

"Just give me another chance Mulan" he said

"One I'm not interested and two why, why the hell would I give you another chance you fucking raped and beat me and locked me in the fucking closet of my own house hell no I will not give you another chance Kevin" I said getting up from my desk

"Mulan what do you mean your not interested what do I have to do to get my baby back" he said

"One you have to be these kids in this picture and two you have to not be the asshole you are now and maybe just maybe I might take you back other than that" I said shrugging

"I treated you way better than he did though. I brought you expensive shit I wanted to marry you and start a family with you. I thought you were gonna wait for me I went to jail for three years and rehab for five years trying to get better for you" he said

"If your done I would like to go home to my kids now and Kevin don't be a stalker that's creepy and girls don't like that" I said

He stood and left without another word or looking back. I packed up my belonging and headed home. Since Shawn was home with the kids I told him to attempt to cook dinner. He can't cook so he ordered pizza. After dinner I bathed the twins and put them to bed. I tried to wait until Shawn left to go to bed but it didn't happen. I fell asleep on the couch and the rest is history.
