Marnie

College was probably the best experience. I was accepted into the University of Design and Art in New York. As far from home as possible, and I liked it that way.

Apparently you have to 'look good' to be there, so I had a total make-over. I no longer had glasses, instead I got contacts, no more braces but perfectly straight teeth, and absolutely no acne marks, but clear skin. I also now know how to use makeup so I can make my eyes stand out that much more.

For once I loved my face and no one could change that.

Although I didn't socialize much I at least had someone to talk to. Her name was Allie. She was really nice and she was easy to talk to. She had dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes. But, I technically had to get to know her considering we shared a dorm.

Finally the last week if college came, and surprisingly fast. I had been there 4 years and I am now officially 21.

I got a job as an interior designer, but guess what? It was back in my home town. Just my luck.

------------

As I reached the final gates of the airport, I got a taxi.

It was a long way home and I swear I fell asleep too. We reached my house and I paid the driver as he handed me my luggage. Once he left I walked up to the door and knocked twice.

I heard footsteps come closer to the door and keys unlocking the door. As the door swung open my mom came into view.

"Marnie!" She exclaimed with a wide smile on her face.

She pulled me into her embrace hugging me tightly and I hugged her back. "It been so long!"

She let go and held me at arms length.

"Look at you," she said with a little surprised tone in her voice.

"You're gorgeus."

"Thanks mom," I looked over her shoulder a saw my brother Kyle.

I rushed into his open arms and wrapped my arms around him. I definitely missed him the most.

"Good to see you too kiddo," he said smirking at my reaction.

"Now lets go get you unpacked and situated." My mom interupted. But I didn't want to let go.

I nodded to my mom and walked upstairs taking my purple luguage with me.

I opened my bedroom door, and it was exactly the same when i left.

The light blue walls covered with posters, my white bed sheets with a blue flower design, a black wooden desk in the corner, a wooden dresser on the wall with a mirror hanging over it, including my own bathroom, and a somewhat walk-in closet.

"Well, I'll call you down when it's dinner."

"Ok, thanks mom."

With that she closed the door.

I put my luguage down and flopped onto my bed.

Jet lag was really getting to me, and I fell asleep.
