Marnie
I woke up to the bright sun through my window.
Turning my head I looked at the clock and it was 12:23. The door slammed open and I simply pulled the covers over my head.
"Come on Marnie." Someone whined.
I was surprised. It was a familiar voice, but why would I hear it back home?
I lifted up the covers and it was Allie.
"What are you doing here?" I said smiling at the fact that my best friend was in my house.
"Oh, I invited her here," my mom popped up behind her shoulder.
"I didn't want you to be all alone," she added with a sincere smile.
"Mhm," I grumbled. I got out of bed ,yawning and stretching, I put on my orange fluffy slippers and followed my mom and Allie downstairs.
"Morning," I said to Kyle.
"You mean goodafternoon," he smiled. "Well I'm off to work," he said getting off the stool. "See you guys later." and he closed the front door.
"So when did you get here?" I turning my attention to Allie.
"Just this morning actually," she said.
"Well aren't you tired from jet lag?"
"Not really. It doesn't affect me that much."
"Oh" I nodded turning to my mom who was just staring at us.
She noticed me looking at her.
"Want some coffee?"
"Yes please," I said emphasizing the 'please'.
She handed me a cup of coffe and under it was a purple piece of paper.
I looked up at my mom with a confused look. "What's this?"
"Just look at it."
I unfolded the paper:
Alvin Highschool Reunion!
Where: Alvin High School Gym
When: Tonight at 8:00
Dress wear: Formal-ish
I looked at my mom with pleading eyes not to go.
"You're going and no complaining about it."
"But mom," I groaned.
"No buts. Plus they have it for every graduated class sooner or later. That's how I meet your father." She added wiggling her eyebrows. "Should I remind you of the story?"
"Oh my gosh mom please, don't." I took another sip and said to Allie, "she doesn't spare the details."
She giggled and said, "Well let's go shopping! We need to get you a beautiful dress!"
I'm not much of a shopper but I might as well go.

We got to the mall and Allie took me by my wrist to the nearest dress store.
Allie guided me through the store between racks and eyeing each one once and then going to the next. It's like she knew what dress she was looking for.
She stopped infront of the last rack and pulled out two dresses.
This confused me. "You're coming with me?"
"Well duh. I'm not going to stay at the house while you go to the reunion. I wouldn't let you go alone anyways."
She gave me one of the dresses and we headed to the dressing rooms.
Minutes later we were out.
Allie was wearing a short light blue dress, with some beading on the neckline.
"Woah." Was all I could say. She looked stunning.
"Talk about yourself," she said with a smile from ear to ear.
I turned towards the mirror and my eyes widened.
The purple dress hugged me just enough and the fabric was really soft. There was just enough lace and I loved it. Turning side to side I examined it's beauty.
"This is going to be perfect!" Allie exclaimed. "Now let's go get some shoes to match."
We changed back and payed for our dresses going to the nearest shoe store. We got high heels and went home to get ready.
