Parents

Dedicated to the parents.  Even though you may hate them, and they seem like they hate you, they still love you, and help you  through tough times.  Don't ignore them.  Give your mom and dad a big hug, and just feel good knowing that someone out there loves you.

Your parents say,

they've got your back.

They'll be there

when you cry, whine,

or feel mad or depressed.

But no one ever tells you

about when they make you mad.

Now, no one will comfort you.

You find yourself alone,

huddling, rocking,

in a corner,

with only the darkness to keep you company.

Parents don't realize,

that most often,

you're at your breaking point.

They say something

they think is little,

but sets off a volcano

of emotions.

You hate them,

you swear at them,

 but, eventually,

you find yourself drawn in,

seeking comfort,

a mother's lap,

a father's jokes,

a brother's hug.

And you realize,

they still love you,

and you still love them.

Sometimes you may need alone time,

to get away from everyone else,

but you also long

for when you are enclosed in a hug.

So, remember,

even though they make you mad,

your parents, and family,

will be there for you,

to listen to you,

to comfort you,

and to help you

when you need it.

Try to see past your hatred, and love your parents.  They are truly spectacular people, and I don't know what any of us would do without them.
